Mcshay "Drafting him (Cam) was a gamble, and thats why this franchise is where it is"

Awesomeness!!

Basically he said we take too many gambles, which is why we sucked last year. I literally spit out my Pepsi, because this guy obviously has no fuging clue what he is talking about. Jerry Richardson might be the most conservative guy in the NFL. JR thinks staying up past 8:30 is extreme. Of course, the opposite of JR is Al Davis, but thats another story. What I took from this is that these guys clearly have no clue what they are talking about. From now on I will put no stock what so ever in anything this guy says. Thats pathetic, and indicates a lack of knowledge on his part.

I think we are where we are now because we haven't gambled on a franchise QB in a long time.

(scratches head) (very confused)

Ummmm... Didn't we draft Clausen last year???

Wow... Some people just won't ever get it!

It may be time to test each member on the huddle on basic football knowledge, as well as Panthers knowledge.

With those results, we should then be categorized, so that the slower people cant talk to the faster people.

Sometimes you have to gamble to win. I'm not a Cam supporter and I don't like the pick, but I will admit that Cam has tons of potential.

The athletic skills are there, the desire to win is there, the leadership potential is there. I just have doubts have his work ethic and his focus. I would feel most comfortable with bringing in a vet and letting Cam sit. Starting him will almost guarantee a losing season and, like Clausen who was started by Fox in desperation, only frustrate Cam which may cause him to lose his focus.

Cam knows how to win. But does he know how to lose?

Clausen wasn't drafted to be the Franchise. He was just drafted because he was there.

If it wasn't for Gruden, I probably would've just started following the ticker on my phone.

McShay and Kiper are such tools.

Moreso McShay, Kiper's really lost his elitist attitude in recent years for the most part.

Or it just pales in comparison to how bad McShay's is.

"McShay: What? You didn't do what I said? But But But... I work for ESPN..

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
