Tell you're wife not everyone can be Hines Ward.....better yet...stop dancing with her all together....that will learn her.

'Your'.

And I'm too young and trim for that insult to make sense. But thanks for trying.

To be an improvement as a backup RT, all he has to be is:

1. Better at run blocking than Garry Williams.

2. Better at right edge pass protection than Geoff Schwartz.

Not that tough of an assignment.

Not worried about the run blocking, and for as slew-footed, slow and fat as he is, he looked a lot better in games than he did in his pajamas. As an added bonus, he defintely qualifies as an Ugly. Could be moved to guard if he doesn't work out at RT, but there certainly wasn't anything better available as a backup RT for a compensatory pick in the 7th.

And BTW, Hurney said in the day 3 presser, "he's a tackle", even though all the draft pundits say "he's got to move inside". I think backup RT is where they start him off. Competition for RG is already very crowded with Schwartz (eventual starter IMO), Bernadeau (eventual interior swingman IMO) and Robinson (last opportunity to show what he can do). Both our OL draft picks will be asked to learn RG/LG eventually, but I think Williams and Ziemba are penciled in at backup C and backup RT respectively when camp opens.

Most accurate post, IMO. Ziemba was a damn good player. Screw the combine and workouts. He can play football. I can safely say, after watching him play for 4 years, he is a hell of a pick up. He will be fine with us. Gonna be sweet!

Cam made his guys look good. I doubt this guy will amount to much but then again, if Cam is QB, it won't matter. :)

Other than Fairley and Cam, I didn't want Auburn players.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Ziemba was a freshman first team AA, and a two time All SEC second team selection before Cam ever set foot on campus. Plenty of talent there. Whether he pans out or not at the next level who knows, but this guy was an excellent tackle for four years.

I know from watching the games.

Having a QB who not only can't be tackled, but can't be caught, makes any lineman look good. When the chips are down and you have less to work with, that's when you know how good a player is. He hasn't had that to overcome. Also, if it had not been for Cam, Aub running game would have been garbagio.

    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
    • Wayne Gretzky yesterday said he is playing as good a series as he has ever seen from a defender. I thought that was pretty high praise.
