Free Agency

So when it ever begins what do you see us picking up. They filled alot of need spots in the draft but I could still see some vets needed.

While we did draft two DT's I think we still need another veteran.

QB we need someone to Mentor Cam and to show both him and Clausen how to play the spot.

CB still need a veteran opposite of Gamble. Hogan wont be fully ready to go til the end of training camp.

Captain will be a fine CB even if he is a little short to cover the Y receiver. I have complete faith in the kid. We also drafted a couple CBs last year that all looked relatively promising. I like the kid we got outta UCoNN personally.

I'm not going to personally worry about Free Agency until the lockout is lifted. If this team gets no training camp with Rivera's new system things are going to be ugly. Everyone needs time together.

I think we need to bring in another DT. McClain and Fua might be good eventually but we need a sure fire player if we want to improve next year. Still not satisfied with the depth at DT either.

CB would be nice but I'd like to see if Captain can do it.

As for QB is depends on what happens with Moore.

The first priority has to be to sign our own guys.

Agree on DT and CB, maybe add QB depending on what happens with Moore, and a wideout depending on Smith.

I would only spend big money on a DT, the others not so much.

    • They will be if they extend Young but I don't think we're there just yet. Morgan and Canales are tied and I don't believe Tepper is going to go look for a new front office for Bryce as things stand.
    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
