Clausen isn't 'real' competition for Newton

We need to bring in a VERY good Vet QB. Newton could beat Clausen on his throwing motion alone. Newton needs to be pushed to the max and needs to know the starting job won't come easy, even if you're the #1 pick.

THey need a vet who will also understand his role on the team. I don't think you are going to be able to woo a very good FA vet with a starting window as small as it is here. McNabb is not that type of QB that would take on a mentoring role (IMO).

I wish we could land Kitna.

IMO... I would make a run at Donovan Mcnabb or a David Garrard. Garrard is really unlikely. But I would love to have him back there. There's guys out there that would be better to bring in here than just leave Jimmy as the only true competition. Byron Leftwich, Kerry Collins, Matt Hasselbeck, Vince Young to name a few.

Don't be surprised if Vince's name surfaces.

They also have to want to play for us. McNabb is not coming here. He would be as good of a mentor as Kurt Warner. ie Not Good. Oh and Why would Jax give up Garrard if Blaine is just as much (if not more) of a project than Cam. Why would they screw themselves?

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
