Guys, Im telling you... If we can resign Steve Smith and/or Deangelo Williams... we're gonna be alot better than people think. Jeremy Shockey is really going to spread the field out for our receivers. Mike Goodson and Kealoha Pilares can give us some speed at slot. And if Cam Newton is in the backfield with those kind of weapons running the field, his opportunities are numerous!

I think alot of our problems last year started with a battered offensive line and a non-existent gap stopping tackle. We addressed both needs in the draft. One of the major reasons that we had trouble last year is because we had absolutely no running game last year. Without a running game, there was no chance to establish any kind of passing attack with a rookie qb and 2 rookie wrs. With a healthy line and a consistent rushing attack, we'll shock alot of people.

well crap this is actually getting me excited about madden this year. i'm glad they are finally adding depth to the franchise mode again. hopefully this isn't the extent of all the franchise changes and they add more crap to do with the draft.

I totally agree. I hate listening to these analysts that say we were a bad team and dont have the pieces to surround Cam. So not true. With the above mentioned, Gettis/Lafell playing with the promise the had last year, and keeping the core players, I wouldnt be shocked if we are playoff contenders

It was very easy to defend us last year because there was absolutely no faith in a passing attack. The previous year we had 2 rbs rush for over 1,000 yards, and it was obvious to everyone that with a rookie qb that we would be running the ball often. Defenses never believed in our ability to pass the ball... because we didnt either. And with a beat up, inconsistent line... it didnt matter how good our RB's were... stack 8 in the box... and the fact that we were switching QB's every other game... then thats a formula for having the last ranked offense in almost every category. John Fox tried to pass more but it was too little too late.

I hope you all realized they had this kind of stuff in franchise mode years back, yet they're bringing it back as "new" additions. I bet you it's the same horrible game, just with a new layer of shiny paint on it.

NFL 2K5 is the most realistic in terms of how football is played and had way more to do on it than any madden still has to do. Among that it allowed first person football , your own house , halftime shows / franchise end of the week highlight shows where they don't just talk . That's why people keep saying they want 2k to be allowed to make the games , Madden wouldn't have half the following .. also i think NFL Street 1-3 are better as well .. were alot more fun to play.

Game has been horrible on the next gen consoles, don't kid yourself. It is a shell of its former self, the games from 2003-2005 were phenomenal on the PS2.

I am a football freak. I didn't even play the game last year after a week or so, DURING NFL SEASON! That's how horrible it was. Every year it's gotten worse. sales of the title are decreasing and they've had to get rid of some lead developers.

You ask what game is better? They have that covered too due to the relative monopoly of football gaming that they own the rights to--which is simple economics of why their product is horrible--and why many products decrease in quality, there is no competition.
