so recap

ps - glad to hear he hates the cowboys.

Kinda of hard to recap the questions he answered were all over the place but in general

He REALLY wants to be a Panther

Doesn't think Smith will be back

Loves Cornhole

Believes Cam will be the starter

Loves country hats because everyone thought he was really country when he first joined the team

He likes to hunt and fish

Having a good time with his new kid

His wife breast feeds

Lost a lot of family memebers to cancer

There was alot of stuff that I can't remember now but it was a really cool thing to watch.

I didn't catch the whole thing at first either but I caught the tail end of that segment and he said word for word he wants to stay. He mentioned a lot that he wants to stay it's just that he has no idea whats going on contract wise since he can't talk to anyone.

A comment from a fan was made that the FO was dumb for letting him go but he came back with I'm not gone and would like to stay but I can't do anything right now.

The issue with Smith is that Dwill "heard" Smith isn't happy now and wasn't last season. Dwill mentioned Steve has a huge chip on his shoulder that he wants to be a winner and isn't happy with the overall situation from last yeat. Dwill ended that segment with I don't think smitty is coming back and ended that with "that's what I've heard" so it's must have some truth to it. I can see Smith not being happy right now.

And he'd rather run behind Brad Hoover than anyone else in the history of everdom.

    • The crux of the issue is figuring out if he can be more consistent will cost us more. A lot more. The options as I see them now: Trade him Pro: We get something in return. No further financial liability.  Con: We must find a new guy + backup via FA/draft and they may not be cheap and/or could be worse than Young (see McCarthy). Young could be the next Darnold/Mayfield on another team, which means it's an organizational issue with (lack of) QB development. Fifth Year - No extension Pro: Gives us more time to evaluate and build up roster. Have a natural exit plan if he doesn't pan out.  Con: We get nothing for him in return if we let him go. We risk a Daniel Jones scenario where Bryce plays lights out, skyrocketing the cost of his extension. Extend now Pro: Provides stability for the near future. May be able to get a more reasonable contract number now since his stats don't scream franchise QB yet and/or structure it to where we give ourselves an out. Con: Bryce's agent demands whatever CJ Stroud will end up getting. We're hitching our wagon to him for at least a year or two. Cost of getting out of the contract. Likely ties Canales' fate to Young.
    • I hope Wallace can develop but he's a liability as a starting LB at this point. He didn't take the rookie to sophomore leap I was hoping he would.
    • When do we get a Tepper mic up. Can we do that for the 1st Tampa game?
