US Airways lets man fly wearing women's panties

Days before a college football player was arrested on a US Airways flight at San Francisco airport following a dispute over his saggy pants, the airline allowed another man wearing skimpy women's panties and mid-thigh stockings to fly, according to a passenger and airline spokeswoman.

Jill Tarlow, a passenger on a June 9 flight from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Phoenix, took a photo of the scantily clad man, which she provided to the San Francisco Chronicle. The newspaper published the photo in its Wednesday edition.

The man flew six days before University of New Mexico football player DeShon Marman was arrested on a US Airways flight at San Francisco airport following allegations he refused to pull up his pants.

Tarlow told the Chronicle she and other passengers complained before boarding the plane, but US Airways employees did not prevent the unidentified man from flying.

"No one would believe me if I didn't take his picture," Tarlow, 40, of Phoenix said. "It was unbelievable."

US Airways spokeswoman Valerie Wunder defended the airline's decision to let the man fly, saying employees acted correctly.

"We don't have a dress code policy," Wunder said. "Obviously, if their private parts are exposed, that's not appropriate...So if they're not exposing their private parts, they're allowed to fly."

The airline has said Marman was exposing a body part on June 15 when he was repeatedly asked to pull up his pants.

His attorney, Joe O'Sullivan, said surveillance video would show his client's skin was not showing. He accused the airline of racial discrimination. Marman is African American.

"It just shows the hypocrisy involved," O'Sullivan told the Chronicle. "A white man is allowed to fly in underwear without question, but my client was asked to pull up his pajama pants because they hung below his waist."

Wunder said Marman was asked to leave the flight not because of his clothing, but because he refused an employee's request.

Marman was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, battery of a police officer and obstruction after refusing to leave the plane on the captain's orders, according to police. Police have also said he injured an officer while being taken into custody.

Prosecutors have until July 18 to file any charges against him

I am 100% certain that guy would end up with a seat next to me. I fly a sh*t ton and have the worst luck on just about every flight. Not sure if I would enjoy having some old guys moose knuckle that close to me on a plane. Especially if the only thing between him and I is a thin layer of banlon.

      "Things like this" were never included with cable in the past, because there's never been anything like it.  I can't think of a single league that you could watch every single game from it through your cable, even with an added sports package you'd just get a channel that carries various gamest.  Pretty sure the NFL was the first league to do this with Sunday Ticket, and they've all followed suit since, but even all of those are separate expensive packages just like Sunday Ticket is. And given that the point of Sunday Ticket has always been for out of town fans to be able to watch their team every week, there really isn't any other math to run compared to the cost for an out of town fan to watch the Panthers every Sunday, at least legally. I can understand wishing it was cheaper, of course I do too, but when you really look at it logically, it really isn't a bad price point.

      I’m not saying spend 20 million of it on a single player or two. I’m saying can we get a little better in some of these other areas instead of wasting time developing people because they are almost free.    Maybe we take a chance at having a $2,000,000 LB in depth instead of a guy on minimum. And same in some of these other spots.    Otherwise it’s going to be like Dalton and the receivers last year where you can’t properly evaluate and develop certain positions because those around them are failing.

      People seem to forget a lot about Cam. He had a big arm but was not good at touch passes or leading his receivers. He was one of the worst screen pass throwers I’ve ever seen and never seemed to get the hang of the touch needed. He was notorious for overthrowing receivers. His best year as a deep ball thrower was his rookie year, imo, and then he seemed to get less accurate with it. Overthrew wide open Ted Ginn plenty. This is all pre shoulder issues. Don’t get me wrong, Cam was special and I was one of his biggest defenders, but he left a lot to be desired as a passer. We drafted big receivers so it was harder for him to overthrow them. For years we all lamented how our receivers didn’t have much opportunity for yac because Cam just rifled the passes to wherever the receiver was at the time. He was the antithesis of an anticipation thrower.
