Best training camp venue, Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.

How is it if you go alone? Was thinking about it this year .. was gonna try to get an autograph from the captain unless somebody else can snag me one?

I am not an autograph guy, but it is definitely hit or miss. Sometimes the players come by and sign and other times they turn their head to go straight for the locker room.

I would imagine it's related to how their practice was .. if they feel they did well they might autograph , but if they are way too tired or had a bad practice they probably wouldn't feel up to it.

Nothing beats watching the Panthers practice from a few yards away. It is a great time for the adults and kids alike. Then you can go to the Beacon for a cheeseburger a plenty. IF you don't have a coronary from all the artery clogging food, it makes for a fine time for sure. The Panthers do a lot to make it a fine family atmosphere and we have enjoyed going down there for years.

beacon may clog arteries, but it sure cleans out the colon.

Wofford is nice, but Spartanburg itself is pretty crappy.

agreed. greenville is pretty nice, tho. thats where i like to go when TC isn't going on.

Skip TC and go to one of the Panthers practices right behind the stadium, you can get pretty much any autograph you want (Capt. is a particularly friendly guy) with little to no competition.

greenville being so close makes it a bit easier to deal with....esp. if you are talking family there and are planning to be there a couple days. good bit of stuff to do with the kids.

Bingo. Small town USA, and your there to watch football and sweat. If you want autos get there early....players sign more on their way to the field than they do on their way off. Think about that. As far as Munnerlyn's auto goes....if I'm there I'll try and get it for ya and won't charge ya a dime. You just pay the shipping.

I grew up going to spartanburg every weekend. Good memories but I prefer to chill in Greenville.

The location is not that bad but you are right about how close the players interact w/the fans....been a fan since the start and went to my first TC last August and what an incredible experience it was...hot as hell but would LOVE to do it again next month!! :patriot:
