Skins may let Rogers walk...

The Washington Post confirms that the Redskins "seem content" to let CB Carlos Rogers walk in free agency.

Rogers doesn't want to play there, anyway. Having just recently turned 30, Rogers is no longer a spring chicken but should receive plenty of interest on the open market. The former No. 9 overall pick is a press corner, and a good chunk of the league's cornerback-needy teams are seeking man-to-man cover guys

He's a solid cover guy and a good tackler for a cornerback but he may have the worst hands in the NFL. I mean he can knock down passes but can't get an NIT to save his life.

Good Guy btw.

seriously though the guy was the 9th overall pick and he had one less int than the captain last year, who was what in the 6th or 7th round. If we get him cheap i guess but with him in his early 30's i bet cheap isn't gonna happen.

Asomugha has had 3 interceptions over the past 4 years yet is a top 2 conerback in the NFL. But we all know Munnerlyn is no Asomugha. Theres more to CB than just interceptions. He may be really good at coverage and QBs don't want to take a chance to throw his way.

Rogers is closer to being like Aso than Munnerlyn is for sure. He's a really good CB and probably the best one we can afford out of the top FA CBs that will hit the market once a CBA is agreed upon. And there are very few top FA CBs to choose from. We can't afford to be picky just because a guy isn't named Jonathan Josepth or Ike Taylor or Aso himself.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
