Well you have identified the risk with Haynesworth. Clearly he would be a bargain if he returns to All-Pro status. If he doesn't, then you are stuck with that headache of a player for 2 years.

i agree on that, that's why i dont see Carolina doing it, i dont think they want him.

i don't see them signing cullen, barry and kris. maybe. i just don't see it.

i see them trying to sign Cullen and Kris Jenkins first and if they miss out on ONE of those guys then they will chase after Barry Cofield, i agree they dont get all three, IF they get 2 of them (and i hope they do) i see them signing the Jenkins brothers who would possibly do this so they can play together on the same team and then Colfield will go elsewhere where he can start.

pretty sure rivera can handle him and if he doesnt act right cut his ass.

when you cut him you have to pay him which is a waste of money, personally, i think a coach can handle him if the team is winning, but if they are losing he will act up. i think there are better bargins then haynesworth.

Only if you are the team that executed the original contract. The only guaranteed money is signing bonuses and that's all on the redskins.

You could trade a 7th round pick for Haynesworth today, decide tomorrow that you don't like him, cut him, and then only be out a 7th rounder.

no it depends on what type of contract he has.if you give him the vet min plus incentives for a year you wont lose anything. if he keeps his head on right sign him again, if not let him walk.

pretty sure his next couple contracts will be just for a year or 2 anyways, just like teams did with TO.

Lots of misinformation in this thread on Haynesworth contract.

When you trade for a player, the originally signing team has to fork over all of the signing bonus money to that player then. That leaves only the base salary, performance incentives, workout bonuses, and poison pills left for the acquiring team to pay.

So, the cost to any team acquiring Haynesworth is as follows:

2011: 5.4 mil

2012: 6.7 mil + 500k workout bonus

2013: 8.5 mil + 500k workout bonus + 20 mil discretionary bonus

2014 and 2015 are also part of the contract, but they are never meant to be realized. In 2013, Haynesworth gets cut.

So the cost to the Panthers to pay Haynesworth over the next two seasons would be 12.6 mil total. That's a good deal for a highly productive, team-oriented player, provided that he is highly productive and team-oriented./

i agree on all of this, like i said, if his team isnt winning, he wont try.

he has a good contract, but the issue is that he's a pain in the butt to deal with at times, especially if the team stinks.

i believe the Redskins will USE their checkbook, BUT i worry that Colfield or one of the Jenkins brothers wont want to go to Washington due to their lack of success on the field, players are getting wiser when it comes to signing with Washington which is why i do NOT see Washington getting the guy they really want in Santonio Holmes.

They will sign Cofield for a stupid 100 million dollar contract. Then they release Haynesworth. We sign Haynesworth for dirt cheap. Win Win.

No one is gonna be able to sign Albert for dirt cheap. Shanny went full retard in Washington last year.....you don't intentionally make your best defensive player an outkast and bench your leader/starting QB in crunch time for Rex Grossman while continually making up bs reasons for everything.......and think the rest of the league will simply think it was the "players" at fault.

First i agree with you on the dirt cheap line, BUT i disagree with you on Haynesworth. he's PAID to play no matter what. it wasnt like Shanny came in to make him angry, he came in to try to insert a defense he studied on. NOW i agree with you on McNabb and i still wonder what was the point of even getting McNabb, but Haynesworth was NOT Shanahan's mistake, that was Cerrato's mistake and Haynesworth is at fault for all that happened with his play, not Shanahan, Hayensworth didnt like the 3-4 and didnt even try, now i agree with you on McNabb, but not Haynesworth. Haynesworth is a big, fat waste of money.
