Charles Johnson "Hopefully it's in Carolina"

Fair enough, I admit I get a little thread crazy but it only comes from my desire to share info I come across with other Panthers fans... since I'm perceived as being "that guy" I'm going to take a big step back from starting threads.

Regardless of my own situation, I still think the thread police are getting carried away.

Once everything gets going make what you wish.

Just try and keep duplicates and very similar treads to a minimum.

you are "that guy" in a couple ways. one is that you give really good camp and practice updates.

this. one madden thread would have been fine i think.

Yeah, Mike Hill kept grilling him with questions he didn't want to answer. CJ would just laugh.

But then he answered that one.

He also said Jimmy better be on top of his game once Cam walks in the building. (paraphrase)

Interviewer tried several times for him to lay blame for last season. He would not do it. Good for him.

Charles Johnson sounded like he would probably want to play elsewhere. As someone said before, you have to say "I hope to remain on the team" to avoid the controversy. (Plus, not many people are too excited about moving to another location, and having adjust to new surroundings) Yet if you listen to the guy speak, he probably wants to go elsewhere. He has zero confidence in Clausen, as most do, and just like everybody else, Cam Newton will take time to develop.

So to recap what Johnson was saying, if there is a good enough deal elsewhere, he will leave on the first thing smokin'.

See, when I heard him talking I felt like he'd give his answer, then at the end he would throw in "hopefully its Carolina" like it was SO rehearsed. I agree with you.

I hoped that CJ would be locked up during this time that teams can sign their own FA's, but it appears that CJ will want to wait until Friday and test the open market before he signs anywhere. I have a feeling we will still sign him though.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.
    • Start posting in threads in the other forums instead of just creating threads. No one comes over here so you aren't starting conversations.  Get your ass up to 100 posts. It's not that hard. Don't create 100 posts. Contribute to conversations.
    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
