Why isn't Carolina targeting more WRs?

From my point of view I see only 1-2 NFL caliber receivers on your roster right now, and one of them is in the twilight of his career. Shouldn't it make you nervous that Cam may have limited targets in his 1st season?
Good thread.

I think a young QB only stands to benefit from reliable WRs.

Steve Smith is a solid reliable WR.

I think Derek Mason would be a perfect fit.

Smith and Mason are reliable, run crisp routes and can help a young WR corps mature.

Mason comes from a Coryell system where he was Joe Flacco's safety blanket.

Roy Williams is also a veteran WR that has decent size who also come from the Cowboys who also run a Coryell offense.

I dont think we are looking to sign any big name free agents no more. But guys like Roy williams and Derek Mason could be on our list. We do need another veteran at the position.

What has Josh Freeman's WR corp looked like in Tampa? Cam will be fine. Adding a vet WR probably isn't going to be the deciding factor in what happens w/ Cam.
