Panthers signing Derek Anderson

Recommended Posts

Something to keep in mind is that the new CBA allows 3 QBs to be rosterable more easily. Having a guy familiar with Chud's scheme be that 3rd guy is almost a need IMO. Derek is familiar but also has been benched for Brady Quinn, Delhomme, Max Hall and John Skelton in only the past couple years.

if he's the 3rd QB, then i dont mind the signing, it's a good idea because he can help teach the offense, but if he starts, then i have worries, he just hasnt proved himself a true starter. he's been benched for Quinn, Hall and Skelton and was released for Jake Delhomme. he's not a starter, he's a backup.

I will say that Pike is probably getting released, and they let him know, or, it's just that it's so damn hot out there. But probably because he's getting replaced.

Pike is likely gone and will either be on the practice squad or will be on another roster like Miami or Washington.

said it before, if anderson gets the start expect some booing, moreso than if clausen started. unlike clausen, i won't condemn the booing.

the dude will absolutely have to light it up in a big way before i can get behind him as a panther. just not happy about this at all.

not that I want to see him on the field.....but he had less talent on his team and won more games than Jimmy did last year.

I dont' want to see either take the field.

    • no I don't. again I feel that's what the Panthers will or have plans to do. I've been trying to prepare huddle form going nuclear.     I prefer to draft edge, DL, CB, or LT in the first two rounds. But again I understand what the Panthers thinking is, they are one quad or sophomore slump away from starting David Moore. You can play 5 WR at the same time, 3 is the normal for many NFL teams. Panthers have that hole at either starting TE or starting slot.  So.................. Matt Millen it is!!
