What do you think about the Derek Anderson signing?

I've always had the opinion that it didn't matter who our QB was the past few seasons, we were destined to fail with Fox and his awful offensive play calling. We had about 5 plays (run left, run right, draw play run through the middle, smoke pass to smitty, or sack).

I don't know how different it will be this year as far as play calling is concerned, but at this point it doesn't really matter who is under center because the pieces are in place for any of them to do well (as long as we can keep offensive line penalties down).

I much rather had Jake then Anderson, Rather had Bulger over both. Bulger has the most knowledge of all of them and Anderson has the least. TBH Anderson is not much of an upgrade to Matt Moore.

I also dont like the riff it put between Cam and Chud. Anderson is Chuds guy and could cause problems if he is ahead of Cam to start the season.

Don't you mean from Matt Moore?

Moore was a decent backup behind a good O line.

Seems you have all forgotten what he did for us end of season 2009.

Spanking the Vikes on SNF in front of the nation? Anyone? Taking the Giants out of the playoffs and embarrassing them in their own stadium's very last game?

Guess we were all so quick to forget.

Derek Anderson was 13-11 in Chud's offense.

Our roster is much better with him on it vs. the horrific trio of Cam, Clausen, Pike.

The move makes sense. Chud's offense played to Anderson's strengths....the AZ offense didn't.

Anderson is Matt Moore if Moore knew Chud's playbook.

i dont agree. Clausen was a rookie and played awful. Anderson has played in the league for years and played awful in the worst division in football.

all teams and all offenses don't suit QBs the same. Which is why Anderson > Clausen in Carolina.

i saw Clausen is a better start than Anderson because Anderson has NO trade value, no team wants him, Clausen though (if he starts and improves) will raise his trade value, however, if Anderson starts, Clausen's trade value lowers to the point that no one will trade for him. ADD to it, Anderson has had chances to prove that he is a starter and failed, i wouldnt start him.

Yea in games that really didnt count and had no pressure. Thats the only reason Anderson is better than Moore. Cause he had One successful year and not a just a few games. Given he was not in the best situation but nether was Anderson.

TBH I dont like either one and I think both would be a mistake on this team. Anderson is not going to teach he is going to compete. I would not worry about that with Delhomme or Bulger at this point.
