According to PFT, the Panthers are over the cap (by a little)

Now, it’s time to look at the teams that had some work to do, as of Tuesday, to get under the spending limit.

Per a source with knowledge of the cap numbers, here are the seven teams that were in the red: Raiders ($17.3 million), Steelers ($11.5 million), Texans ($8.5 million), Vikings ($5.6 million), Lions ($5 million), Cowboys ($3.7 million), and Panthers ($939,000).

From what I understand, I believe we are so close because of the 30 millon dollar signing bonus to CJ. So, after this season, his cap hit will be much, much lower.

But, I could be wrong.

Btw, I made this thread 1st. ;)

I was curious how this was going to work.. we made a lot of (re)acquisitions.

1) is the cap in effect this year? I've heard various reports, but none recently

2) if so, will JR/Hurney pay a lot of that upfront to free up a lot of cap space the next few years?

3) if not, nevermind.. CJ's bonus shouldn't be the only one to relieve us next year..

they aren't the only ones who have provided some cap information..

no, I have seen it from other sources too. I find it hard o believe that they have all the particulars of the entire roster right now though. Plus without even having the first round of cuts, what does it matter. They frustrate me sometimes over there.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
