But we didn't draft DT's. We drafted 3, from 2002-2010.

When you draft like that, you can't blame them for "not panning out."

McClain and Fua were solid choices, at least it gives depth. But injuries could cripple us this season. For a team that likes to build through the draft, this was a blunder IMO.

That includes the two we got in 2011's draft, McClain and Fua.

Interesting stuff. We need depth on the defensive line, because if any more injuries occur the D-line is going to be very weak, IMO.

Depending on how McClain and Fua work out, next draft will probably address the defensive line big time.

Good post....it does seem to be the trend og coaches and GMs to ignore certain postions

I think the biggest part of not drafting DTs during the Fox era was that he was not looking for penetrating (sacking) linemen but those that would take on the OL and keep them off our LBs. It's easier to get proven vets like Kemo, Lewis, etc., every few years and plugging them into a rotation, than developing young pups.
