What if economic calamity actually hits?

ya gotta factor human behavior doc. sure, there will be plenty of land, water and places to hunt and fish.

but it's not like that will be Shangri La. EVERYBODY will go to the sources of survival.

I have planned junk out 15 years in advance. Yes, I said 15 years. I have charted reactions, timelines for population and migration. factored in military installations and even did some assumptions for civil unrest. you can use cdc models for disease but that wild card is so far off, not much you can do.

its not perfect but i have made calculations of where pockets of decent living can occur. if you can make it to each at optimum times, you might be able to make it.

oh and the macro nerd freakonomics guy in me keeps thinking of unintended consequences.

my advice on this stuff is stay low, look ahead and don't assume you can live for a week on your own. that way you wont be blindsided.

correct, but with that said fishing, is a pretty easy and consistent food supply, while fish like bass can be a little harder to come by other fish, like Brim, blue gill, perch and cat fish are not only very plentiful but also fairly easy to catch. even fish that are not often gone after like Gar and Carp while may not taste the best are still eatable.

find the right location and you could fish year around, catch more then you need and you could trade with for other things.

also as a note, while I do have a girl friend I am not married and have no kids so I do not have any commitments to anyone other then myself.

also deer aren't the only thing tat are eatable, there is also squirrel, rabbit, duck, goose.

when it comes to food I think it wouldn't be too hard, as far as shelter, not hard either, already have 2 tents and a mass of camping gear that I would use until I could build a more stable shelter like a log cabin. believe it or not I've actually put a lot of thought into where exactly I would go and why, but I won't tell you suckers that because then you would be crowding my space:cool:

Per 20 acres you might be lucky to have 1 deer, 20 squirrels and 5-10 rabbits. Dont know if you ever ate squirrel but the meat content on them wouldnt last a week. Deer you could live off for about a month if thats all you ate.

You also have to look at we are going into winter. Good luck growing any vegetables.

I hunt and fish close to my house, we have a giant deer stand which i imagine i could convert into a living space with the use of a tent. guns and ammo are also not an issue.

are you able to go stealth against radar? what you have is good, if you can cloak that you can conserve your ammo much longer than needed.

as I've said before don't make me explain everything, but yeah I've eaten squirrel before, and one squirrel will not last a week maybe a good meal for a a day.

the location I have in mind actually has very good fishing throughout the winter, not to mention duck and goose, I'm talking one day for a week or 2 worth of food capable.

plus side is also that the location I have in mind isn't very densely populated so I doubt there would be too much competition outside of the locals that are already there. which a fair amount would probably move out due to the lack of paying work that would be available.

It isnt like society hasnt lived with out refrigirators or electricity before. You just have to know how to do the stuff and have the proper equipment to do it. While everyone is killing each other off I will be settled on a nice 1000 acres piece of land with water and food source. Biggest thing is when every one is trying to get out the cities and having no gas to do it.

Who exactly will be tracking me?
good question, my assumption that at first the worse place to be would be in a city that's why my first move will to be out of the city in 5 hours, with everything essential, my plan would either east or west while west would be better in the summer east would be better in the winter and that's why I would go there.

get far enough from the closest city say 20-40 miles at least out and no one is going to bother you. remember gas will be like gold at this point and no one is going to go out in the middle of nowhere without a very good reason. my location in mind my uncle owns a horse farm so that would be my new mode of transportation. and it has plenty of natural resources at had, not to mentions farms near by so what I could not get in hunting and fishing I could make up for with trading or stealing from them.

like I've said I've planned this out

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
