Other than the out-of-bounds TD today, has LaFell caught anything in TC? I know he sat out a few days, but it seems like every post/tweet about him, he's dropping the ball.

He caught some stuff last Tuesday when he was still healthy.

broken finger might be a good thing for Smitty....will keep him on the sidelines for preseason.

As someone who doesn't want Cam to endure the same thing as Clausen (ya know... develop zero chemistry with your number 1 receiver the entire preseason)... I hope you are wrong.

I'm really liking the sound of this Wildcat with Armanti, a real QB running a wildcat is going to be dynamic.

Isn't Cam a real QB who can take off and run, making him essentially the quintessential wildcat QB? Wildcat with a "QB" instead of a "RB" is basically an option QB, ie The Golden Calf of Bristol or Cam.

yah he is super mobile. its very evident in the differences u can see down at TC. Cam will move left to right....Jimmy just stands there in the pocket waiting to be sacked.

Smith being out last year had nothing to do w/ Clausen's play last year. Clausen has ZERO chemistry w/ Smitty now and has had tons of reps w/ him.

Cam is hitting Clowney on bombs......Cam is hitting other dudes downfield. Smitty flat out goes too hard. I will give up a little early chemistry for him to be healthy at AZ.

While the answer is yes, this is probably the easiest way to guarantee Clausen another year of significant PT.

Couple things:

Thanks to all of you for taking time to post updates. This type of thread is what I come to the Panthers forum for....awesome job and greatly appreciated.

Second, don't knock Smith for going so hard in practice. It makes him who he is and one hell of a role model for the masses of young WR's we've got that need to be doing the exact same.

It's football, and just as in life there are risk. Go hard or go home. It's part of why there is more than one Smith jersey at my house.

good to hear Norwood is holding his own. Its about time he got some respect....he's one of those guys who is sneaky good, i watched him in college every year he played and he wasn't the most athletic on the field but he sure was a ball hawk. One game he had two Fumble recoveries for TDs!

Just sayin, I'm glad that Rivera is a straight shooter and is making these boys grind it out to see who's actually performing better.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
