never said we used to have McNabb, i said i want him to be better than McNabb in other words, i dont want him throwing the ball at the feet of the WRs and i want him to win the super bowl something McNabb couldnt do

oh. I misunderstood:rolleyes: I want him to be better than every QB not just McNabb, but whatever.

It's funny how a guy who's better at the QB position with a better team and weaker competition gets outshined by a guy who's raw can't play the position.

i dont think Luck had the better team, but competition, yes. i would love to have Dyer and Fairley as teammates.

i don't know that he will be better than luck. don't really care, though. i think both QBs are going to be huge for their teams and in a few years will be considered two of the best QBs in the league. there will always be the debate of who's better and it will all depend on if you like your QB in a box our not.

i think luck may end up like a peyton manning and being a OC under center, but newton is going to be a guy that makes big things happen in clutch situations.

for those (like me) who never knew much of the story behind Moon mentoring Cam, there's this: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2011/02/20/1552296/newton-puts-trust-in-moon.html?storylink=rss_xml I'm sure it's been posted before and everyone will lambaste me for being so behind the times on our QB, but I wanted to try to figure out what the Newton's connection to Moon was, if there was one (not that it matters, just was curious why exactly Cecil called him in particular... didn't find it, but still found out how the relationship between Moon and the Newtons got started)

“Cam’s dad, Cecil, reached out to me and initially wanted me to train Cam myself,” Moon said. “I told him I didn’t have that kind of time.”

So Moon steered him to quarterback tutor George Whitfield as an instructor for technique and mechanics. “I’m actually more of a consultant and advisor to the family, and a mentor to Cam as he makes this transition,” Moon said.

i can agree here. when you compare them, they each are better than the other at different things, but the real difference is one is more mobile (though Luck CAN move, he's not the statue that some morons think he is) and one has a photographic memory and a great mind (though Cam's IS good considering that he didnt look lost out on the field). i think both will be really good.

while I think Ben is a fine quarterback, in all fairness, if you somehow could put Manning in his prime on the Steelers I'm pretty sure this last decade would have looked pretty different.

all that being said, in general I don't care how other QBs do... if Cam performs as the Panthers think he can, he'll have been worth the #1 and I'll be happy we took him.

I pretty much root for specific guys due to past panther/college loyalties, but Luck won't be one of em. only time I'll be rooting for him to do poorly is when he plays us :)

Big Ben has 2 rings, damn near got three. Peyton has 2, and hasn't been close since.

I'll stick with the winner mold, over the sheer talent mold.. Any day.

Peyton has 1 ring and has always been close, but he never had the best defense at all. he's got talent on defense, but it's not as great as others had. Freeney can rush the passer, but the DTs the Colts had over the years arent really ones i would want and the corners also leave alot to be desired. Ben now has had a great d-line for years, a defensive genius and a ton of talent on defense including Taylor, Palamalu, Harrison, Woodley and others. it's a shame that Peyton only has one ring. now Ben's team is designed for him, great defense and while the o-line sucks, him being mobile and so big only helps him and the Colts offense is deisnged for Peyton, but the defense isnt.
