Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift was in the Copper Penny clothing store on King Street on Tuesday when the store suddenly began to fill up with fans.

The country music star and her entourage walked into the store unannounced, said Sarah Ellen Anderson, the Copper Penny sales associate who waited on Swift. There were a few customers in the store already.

“She had about eight friends with her and a big bodyguard,” Anderson said.

Swift purchased a Michael Stars sweater, Anderson said. “She didn’t even try it on. She just bought it.”

As the afternoon went on, folks kept on spotting Swift around town and there were reports that she was going to eat dinner at Water’s Edge on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.

Water’s Edge manager John Osborne confirmed that Swift and her party ate at the seafood restaurant.

According to a waiter, she ordered grilled salmon, with cucumber-dill sauce, saffron rice and grilled asparagus.

Though the Grammy-winning star’s visit to Charleston engendered lots of tweets and Facebook postings, there was no official word on why she was in town and how long she would be here. And there were no tweets from her own Twitter account, @taylorswift13.

Some of the local folks who posted on Twitter suggested Swift might be vacationing in Charleston.

If so, it won’t be for long.

According to her website, Swift is scheduled to appear in Alberta, Canada, on Thursday night.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
