FL Bound...

was going down in September to have a gathering with my moms family before my grandfather kicked the bucket.. however things change, heading down today.

just sitting here thinking about how each day goes by faster and faster, until one day it feels like a blink of an eye. I've always heard people much older than I talk about how the days fly by the older you get..

the last 6 months of my life have went faster than any I can remember. I swear it feels like they were fit into a 2 month gap.

today I'm getting a full dose of a reality check.. which is typical.. you can't hear the negatives, nor the positives, when you're gone.. only 1 go around, make the most of it..

i had that realization once i got a full-time job after college. every weekend seemed way too short. then the weeks got to be the same way. now, in my early 30s, i'm wondering where all the time goes. my daughter is already 4 months old and 2011 is already 2/3 over!

I think that its because as we get older we look further and further ahead in life. Planning for "heavy" stuff like finances, but also holidays, trips, etc. Remember when you were a kid and the days would last forever? I think that's because you only planned for the next day, or that afternoon, whatever, lol.

I swear school just got out yesterday, and now they are going back next week. :)

Where in Florida you going?

South Tampa..

There's studies that say that our perception of time changes as we get older. Shame it's not the opposite.

definitely a shame it's not the opposite.. especially when time flies having fun..

Dude, wait until you're 38 like me... oops, there's another week gone...

It really is true...

a lot you'll be able to explain to me later down the road.. like when is it okay to start farting in public, when should I save face and just shave my head, when does the sex stop (wait, nvm)... you know, the usual.. :cheers2:

It's true, time goes by faster, the older you get. I am only 31, but sometimes it feels like something that happened 3 or 4 years ago, seems like it was only last year.

I hope you brought some comfortable clothes. Its hot as a mofo down here in Florida right now.

doing laundry now.. I was down in Sarasota last summer, my gawwwwd.. the sun only inches from the atmosphere..

sounds about right to me.. the last 6 months that flew by has been filled with a lot of future thinking..

ironically, I'm sitting here talking about how the last 6 months (starting in January) have went by and it's really been 8 months.. can't believe August is almost over..

    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
    • When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
