Damn man can Jimmy throw a ball past 15 yards

I keep hearing Sutton while I'm typing

The one time a receiver was open, it got called back on penalty.

Jimmy doesn't seem to want to try to force it in anywhere. He had a couple (literally two) decent throws last week but man I don't think he'll throw it to anyone other than Vaughn at this point.

Why do we even put WRs out there with Jimmy?

Use those positions for blockers instead, or more people or Jimmy to check down to...

Sheesh...

if the WRs arent getting seperation who is he going to throw too??? it isnt all on Clausen and as i recall Newton didnt have good throws to WRs. it isnt the QBs, they need a true number 2 WR (or number 1 when Smith is out). that is why people have them drafting Jeffery or Blackmon next year.

clausen 8/10 64 yards there goes are starter fellas

The starter isn't going to be named off one start in a preseason game against the back ups.

They will make their determination from what is going on in practice.

You may be right but tonight's game isn't what will determine it.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
