Would you be upset if we traded J-Stew?

So should we just ignore the fact we drafted 2 DT's this draft? Give them time to develop before we trade away a JStew for a slapdick journeyman DT.

That wasn't what I was saying.

You were making it seem like finding a DT is the easiest thing on Earth. It's not. DT is one of the hardest position to find a complete player at, because once a team get's them, they keep them.

I'm all for letting the rookie DTs develop, but it's not easy to find an above-average DT.

And your suggestion would be to ________________

I could definitely see trading JStew, because, like someone said before, he's going to become the Panthers version of Michael Turner at some point. It would be best to get value while we can.

I don't want to speculate about who for who in a trade, but, I would definitely be for trading some mixture of Dan Connor, JStew, and a pick for some combination of DT, CB, and a pick.

I don't see how he is going to be like Turner. At some point he will be better than (and might be now) Dwill and the carries will go more towards him. Dwill isn't a little bitch like LT was and demand to remain the starter. We can see their relationship is much different than what was going on in SD.

Connor and Clausen are the best options to trade.

JStew may not demand a trade like happened in SD, but, at some point, he's going to want starter money. And with the contract that we gave DWill, we won't have the luxury of keeping them both, without having huge money tied up in both.

EDIT: I also completely agree that Clausen + Connor are our best trade options.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
