What the hell are these. They were eating the leaves on an Oak in my back yard. About 1' long.

Saddleback Caterpillar

These caterpillars have a pair of fleshy "horns" at either end, and these, like much of the body, bear urticating hairs that secrete an irritating venom. Stings can be very painful. They can cause swelling, nausea, and leave a rash that can last for days. All those little hairs are stingers. I need to go mow but I am scaird now.

I was doing some yard work for a disabled friend and got stung on the palm by one of those bastages. I was in excruciating pain for a week. I tried everything I could think of to numb the pain, but nothing helped. DO NOT touch them!

Been seeing alot of these velvet ant things in my yard this year. About n inch long and they hiss.
