Cam is not ready

The Saltman

Recommended Posts

Cam may not be ready Saltman (bad passing stats), but he's likely gonna be the guy. Sucks that he can't sit and learn, but learning from playing can benefit him as well. There have been QBs that have played all of their rookies seasons and gone on to be a success. Just have to watch his development and see how he's able to improve. It would also help if the OL and DL improved because they aren't playing well at all and its affecting everyone's play.

everyone is putting waaaaay to much pressure on a rookie who we knew would take some time and wasn't the most accurate passer. That being said he will never be brady or win with completion percentage, but he will get yards in chunks and will get better. don't bail on the kid yet. all night we kept seeing flashes. big plays and some good tough throws.

OL will look better with Otah back.

Cam will look better with game plans that are designed to help him out.

D will look better with Beason back, not to mention the inevitable other improvements that will be made.

I just don't think it's anywhere close to as bad as you guys are making it.

There is no guarantee we get him back. A bum knee and a bum shoulder is a death sentence for the career of a big o-lineman

Our linebackers have great numbers because they have to make nearly every tackle due to our DT's missing in action. Beason brings leadership and tackles, however if we go into the season with this DT situation, all Beason can do is tackle backs 5-7 yards down the field.

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
