Cam is not ready

Our d-line is what scares me the most.

totally agree but im more worried about our secondary, linebackers are looking pretty solid even without JB, but Cam looked like he has improved somewhat passing yards aren't quite there yet but, i wasnt convinced he was our guy to lead the team now after watching Jimmy kinda sink ( even though there wasnt much he could do tonite with what he was given ) i think Cam is our future for now.

Who the heck is JV and why are u over reacting as usual?

JV stands for Junior Varsity. You really didn't know that? Come on. I don't believe anyone is that stupid.

You should log off and throw your computer out the window.

So who would you name the starter TRD? I would love to know...

You would love to know wouldn't you.

My first decision would be not having these 3 as my QB stable.

But out of these three I would choose......

Need to not give up 21 points in the first half to the bangals is the biggest thing.

Sadly, that seems to be overlooked. Too much over-reaction and unrealistic expectation for Cam. Many of you are so black and white with him it's not funny.

Amazing how Cam is being accused of being so inaccurate, yet the kid has played against most of the 1st and 2nd team so far. More than any of this years rookie QB and he's has yet to throw an interception and has only been sacked twice. How is that if he's so inaccurate.

I could have sworn Rivera said that Cam wasn't the SAVIOR but just a part. Why are some of u acting like he's not only the savoir but a miracle worker.

everyone is putting waaaaay to much pressure on a rookie who we knew would take some time and wasn't the most accurate passer. That being said he will never be brady or win with completion percentage, but he will get yards in chunks and will get better. don't bail on the kid yet. all night we kept seeing flashes. big plays and some good tough throws.

agree. people are getting too scared too soon. i expect this. Newton will have his good throws and his bad throws. Cam Newton didnt worry me at all in this game, i think he's more ready than the other QBs. the worry was the defense seems to have holes in it. last week Henne looked like Tom Brady and Bush looked like Marshall Faulk and a week later Dalton looks like a rookie of the year and Benson looks like Ricky Williams in Miami. the defense has to improve no matter who the QB is. cant let guys rush for 60 yards in one half.

If I am Hurney tonight, and I think that Otah's problems are going to linger, RT goes near the top of my list when cuts roll around.

Yes, we need a DT also, but tonight is a precursor to what we will see all year without improvement on the right side of the o line.

Without a decent run game and QB protection, it won't matter who starts at QB.

He'd implant matt moore's embryo in derk anderson arm and call it a win.

As I said U are quite the over-reactor.

I'm sure many of us already know. Hence ur desire to stalk Cam and over criticize everything he does. I guess no one ever told u that misguided anger isn't very healthy.

what the fug does not being sacked have to do with being accurate? the vast majority of interceptions arne't accuracy either, they're decision making...

You have to admit, the passing disparity on his part is just not impressive, nor is it good. What we've seen of him however, makes me comfortable with seeing him start.

It's just that the offense in general has been just as bad as Cam, and the Defense... that's a whole nother' story.

I think people (Cam fans as well) have varying expectations of him, and literally expect him to carry a team.

When in reality, that just doesn't happen in the NFL. The last player to do such a thing was Vince Young back in 06' .

This ain't basketball, a rookie player is not going to just waltz into a team and be the next Lebron, or Blake Griffin.

I'm fully expecting Cam to start (and pending on if the Oline is entirely healthy) I expect him to struggle early, and progress into what we're expecting him to be by the end of the season.

The talent is there, he just needs to tune it.

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
    • Winning ain't gonna make my eyes lie to me. Context matters, and it will always matter in the game of football.
    • That TD pass to Legette against Miami. Elite. The play where Bryce rolls right to buy time until Tet can reverse field.  Bryce pumps as multiple defenders close in.  He barely gets it away before he takes a big time hit.  Beautiful off platform throw and great catch by Tet.   The second TD to Tet against Dallas where Bryce dips and turns his shoulder in to evade the pass rusher.  Resets and finds Tet in the end zone. Dude embodies the Keep Pounding mantra.
