The DTs arent holding up at the point of attack... CJ is getting double teamed every play and The other DE (whoever is on the field) doesnt seem to know how to contain.. oh and our Top Notch CB got schooled by AJ Green... smh

I don't know if anyone else noticed it or not (probably have), but the play that Gamble injured his right hand, actually looked like he injured it after he gave up the touchdown when he slammed his hand on the ground in disgust. Immediately after I saw him slam his hand on the ground I was thinking "I sure hope he doesn't injure his hand doing that kind of stuff". Sure enough, the announcer mention Gamble being taken to the locker room favoring his right hand.:rolleyes5:

Hopefully if we can get these guys, that will stabilize both sides of the ball. Having our starters return would stabilize it even more.

DT and RT are very big concerns. We looked horrible at both pos tonight. Why the Panthers didnt bring in a RT to even compete this year is beyond be because its 2010 all over again. I dont care if you start Newton, Clausen, or Brady if your pocket is collapsing like that no one is going anywhere. Not running or passing.

The entire right side of the OL looked terrible tonight. Schwartz and Otah need to be here by week 1, or we're in for a loooooong season.

Not to mention the DT position, but I've no doubt Rivera signs the biggest fatman he can find by next week.

Speaking of the right side of the line. Every play Mackenzy Bernadeau was barely keeping Peko and the other DT's off the QB. Most plays he got dominated which resulted in a rollout by the QB or a scramble. RT Williams was average, but not Bernadeau bad.

Shwartz and Otah should be able to give more time..but Otah is too big of a pus* to play...The few times Cam had time to throw he didn't make poor decisions. Sure his accuracy is bad, but we are getting dominated at the Line of Scrimmage, which is the real problem. IMO

There were plays where the Center, or RG would be literally in Cam's face as soon as the ball was snapped.

That's just horrible.

Kalil is part of the problem. He gets destroyed in pass protection when facing big DTs, but still goes to the Pro Bowl.

The RG has a lot to do with that. Kalil has to use technique to leverage DTs and cant do that without a competent G. Same problem as last year and a big reason why we should have upgraded the G spot this year. Not just sign our own players.

You're the first person on this forum to point that out.

I wanted Duke Robinson to eventually take the RG spot, but he never really progressed.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
