yeah, you guys have got to take it easy on the new coach and team. after all remember how long it took Saints, Falcon and Bucs to transition to a decent team after they shook up their organisations. Sarcasm on

Don't remember lockouts and no offseason or OTAs those years. Oh and yeah what was Tampa Bay the first year under Morris even with a full offseason and OTAs ?? 5-11. Lets wait until after the season to throw around crap. Until then you don't have anything. Right now we are like everyone else. Undefeated in the regular season.

No sarcasm needed.

We are seeing about what I expected, general sloppiness all around. You should all be happy for these ass whippings. They may be enough for the team to get serious. If not, expect a 2-6 first season half with a slight improvement after.

Feeling chatty today or is the board traffic down this morning. Two new threads in the span of an hour???

Didn't Fox inherit a bad team in 2002?

No.

Fox walked into a situation and had one of the most dominant front 4s the league has seen over the past 2 decades. That is pretty big.

Fox walked into a team w/ a bad offense.

So the Chris Weinke lead Panthers didn't go 1-15?

Rivera has the best RB tandum.

like I said, bad offense....but despite the record they were much more competitive than the 2-14 Panthers.

Fox inherited a VERY good defense. Like I said, the front 4 he inherited is a coaches dream.

In fairness to both of you, Fox inherited and DEVELOPED one of the best D-lines in recent memory. Peppers was drafted that year, Jenkins was a second-year unkown, Buckner was a nomad FA and Rucker had never been more than average.

not sure Fox had too much to do w/ how dominant Jenkins and Pep were.....but you make a valid point

The intent of this thread was to display that the laissez faire attitude in training camp that Zod noticed a week ago is starting to bite this team in the ass.

Exactly and why my only critism of Rivera has been in this thread that he talked about and had the demeanour of a diciplinarian. It's just not showing at this point. I didn't think he had a set of kid's gloves, but if he does, those things need to thrown in the trashcan ASAP.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
