6/19 75 yards....

I really don't see why people are getting so offended by the mere suggestion Cam would benefit from a year on the sidelines. I don't there are many on here who would be against Cam IF he can develop as a passer, we just think that he will achieve that by learning before doing. If he plays, he plays and I (we) will support him.

It just smacks of hypocrisy that the same people all over Cam were not prepared to give Jimmy the same growing pains. Those thinking Cam should sit a year were saying that Jimmy needed more time as well.

That he's a terrible NFL prospect and QB and is holding this team back in what could be their last chance at a run for the foreseeable future?

Yes, we have such a remarkable chance "at a run" with our defense giving up 356 net yards (191 of which were RUSHING) against the Bengals, and 417 net yards (164 of which were RUSHING) against the Dolphins in the Preseason. Clearly Cam Newton is "holding us back".

And you wonder why people call you a troll.

Every time someone uses the term "hating" it screams "I'm an assclown"

And every time you post, it screams, "I'm an asshat troll!"

I don't necessarily disagree that he should sit. But I also don't know why he can't work on his accuracy and play at the same time. Same amount of practice time whether he starts or is on the sideline.

There is, but then there is something in the middle called a real game which has players gunning for him. He already has and will start to lean on even more the same tricks that worked in college.

If you rely on the only things that work, you will never improve.

No, backups rarely get reps in practice.

He needs to drill into his mind never ever ever throw off his back foot.

He should literally just take 5 step drop from under center, plant, shift weight, throw a post. Take 5 step drop from under center, plant, shift weight, throw out route. And Repeat.

Until January.

That's all he should do. Ever. Until January.

Cam Newton is not an upgrade at the QB position, he held us back from getting an upgrade at the DT, WR or Corner positions.

His impact is being felt more than just his errant throws due to his terrible footwork that you denied for months.

Luck is these dudes Jim Jeffries. Hes their great hope to save us from QBs like Cameron. Half of them have seen very little of his play. Sad thing is Luck has already shown hes too good to play for a team like the Panthers and dudes still jock him. Lol. We all need hope!

Luck looks like a carbon copy of Jimmy Clausen minus a few interceptions and yardish. There is no gaurantee that he wouldn't be anymore shellshocked than Jimmy, woking with the O and D-line of the Panthers.

But something tells me if he had choosen to join the draft and got picked by the Panthers, many of u sitting there picking Cam apart would be way more willing to tollerate Luck if he had produced Cam's numbers with the team he has to work with. And what is so sad is, many of u picking Cam apart for his #s would be rationalizing Luck's.

    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
