Could Otah make or break Cam's rookie season?

Like others have said, when Cam has protection he looks x1000 better than when he doesn't have any, Otah would make a huge difference to giving Cam more time in the pocket. I can't wait to see what Cam can do with the mammoth Otah on the right side, I think he will look much better and when he gets in a good mix of throwing to the tight ends and WRs, it seemed like the first two games he was obsessed with finding the TEs but last game he was only looking for the WRs, maybe that was the plan, though. I kinda flipped Thursday but I've calmed down now, Cam should start week 1...let him get his feet wet.

I'm so sick of people acting as if Otah is the answer to all our ills. Otah alone will not improve the line. He is just one man on one end. There are four guys to his left that have to play at a high level. Stop putting Otah on such a high shelf. And this line is not one of the best. Don't let Stew's and D-Lo's two amazing seasons trick you. That was a while ago with different men and a different fullback opening holes up for them. This line is average, and if Otah gets back it will still be average. Get used to the truth.

I'm just as worried about that RG spot as I am RT. Big Mac was getting pushed straight into the backfield all night thursday. Schwartz seems legitimately injured. If he can't get on the field, Cam is gonna be in trouble anyways. The line is only as strong as its weakest link

I would not be hitching any hopes on Otah.

Even on the miracle that he does start, I'd be willing to bet he plays 8 games max this year before he falls like a tall timber again.

Otah has proven he has durability issues and the Panthers are incredibly stupid for not signing a McKenzie or someone who has some ability on that right side as a stop gap.

this.

the o-line has done nothing but regressed since 2008.

He needs to get back fast. RG is already the weak link in the OL, and Garry Williams just isn't good enough to pick up the slack for him.

Getting Otah back will work wonders.

Hasn't Schwartz been hurt as well? He was a starter, correct?

It's a shame Ziemba has been hurt. Would have been nice to see what he's got this preseason with Otah out.

25 games in 3 years. And if he misses another season when do you say that's enough of wasting a roster spot?

Hurney got raped again on a draft day trade giving up 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks for the right to select Otah.

No way he admits another draft day failure and cuts Otah.

See Everett (the spin doctor) Brown.

    • Refs are dildos, PP got no motion, and First Shot Freddie reared it's ugly head again. That said we are outplaying them, so far. Need to clean up the turnovers. But, if we stick to our game, we should beat this team.
    • The biggest need on defense is a finding a pass rush. Picking 19th makes it tough to get a blue chipper. Trey hendickson or Maxx Cosby would obviously provide fire power. Would you invest the $$$ to bring either one in or pull a trade, or is their a 2nd tier guy you would target? Hu If not, what later first round edge rusher would you target. Trading up to get the guy if possible? What u got
    • Here we go again with wasting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks on offensive lineman. 2 free agents. 1 high football IQ leader in the 2nd or 3rd round for the interior. Two Day 3 starters. Stop wasting draft capital or be left behind. [if they enter free agency or the draft] Braden Smith in free agency or draft Carter Smith, Brian Parker II (leader), or Isaiah World. Take the one that slips. I know some are going to go after Carter Smith's arm length, but I'd rather have him with his fierce grip and control of lighter speed rushers than a top 10 pick LT waist bender on skates. If Bryce stays and needs to rely on popping out of the pocket to win games, then you need a Carter Smith or Brian Parker who can redirect a pass rusher at the rusher's hips. The lack of control by Ekwonu and Moton on their pass rushers change of direction is what always frustrated Bryce stepping up in the pocket. They are leverage tackles for a pocket passer that ride the pass rusher out.  Carter and Parker can create passing lanes for a QB who wants to step up, pop pass, and escape. Draft Carter Smith and Brian Parker if they fall. Then trade Moton and place Brian Parker at LT and Carter Smith at RT. Could it be possible to flip Moton for picks that get you both of these tackles with 2 picks? I know fans would hate even entertaining this, but if you want Bryce to win, he needs to rely on his limited but highly effective skills. If you don't like these options, you may as well just stick with Yosh and Brady at LT. The pool and projections will shape up in the next 2 months, but I hope this front office stops making the classic mistakes of losing the draft capital battle that a dynasty must win. Save the 1st and 2nd round picks for core defensive players.
