This just might be another down year.

It looks like we are headed for a down year IMO. We are thin on both lines and we will lose a all pro DE. On top of all that FA and the Draft are very weak where we need to improve and we are missing our 1st round pick. :incazzato:

I know Im being pessimistic but thats just what im seeing right now and really IMO im not sure what we can do about it. :nonod:

We aren't missing a #1 pick. We already picked ours, last year. We already signed a quality OT and tagged a great DE this off-season. On top of that our shithead DC is not coming back.....I repeat....IS NOT COMING BACK! It's not all bad.

We definitely won't go 12-4 or better, and I'll put up $100 to their first person's $5 to take the bet. We can win the division, however, as we all play the NFC and AFC East.

I'll take that bet. Paypal agreeable by both parties with witnesses here?

that we won't go 12-4?

at those odds i'll put 25 dollars down on 12-4 or better

The Div next year will be us or ATL and 10 games will win it

might as well mail it in.

Not saying we wont make the playoffs just that we will not see a SB.

Sorry even with those odds its a craps shoot. Both lines are very thin and we always get the injury bug.

Exactly...10 wins will take it, NFC/AFC east is no joke your schedule is going to be insane. With that said I still see you guys taking the division....but you guys do have to make atleast a couple moves. I know some ppl believe that doing nothing could be better than doing anything at all but this is the NFL and it is very competitive. Alot of the members praise your GM (Hurney) but im not quite sure why...he is not in a good situation. Players are triggering roster bonuses left and right to an already crippled cap...instead of reworking Digg's contract he really should be working on Jakes. He has 17 million soaked up in a DE that doesn't want to be there and I understand that Peppers not wanting to be there is not Hurneys fault but he has to offload that guy asap.

    • Too much to ask picking in the middle of the third round. Unless you are historically lucky. Hell you need luck in the 1st to get that.    The devaluation of the position is hard for me to understand when I look at the difference great MLBs have made to defenses over the years.  Defense needs a good QB too. MLB is the QB of the defense.
    • Across the league.  5 straight years of decline. Deep pass attempts have fallen to just 7.7 per game in 2024, down from that 2019 peak. Air yards per attempt are at 7.7 yards this year—the lowest in over a decade. Overall passing yards per game have tanked too, from 496 in 2020’s early weeks to a  403 in 2024.    This trend is a result of defenses playing with two-high safety schemes designed to prevent deep passes, forcing offenses to seek yards after the catch on shorter throws.  Two-high safety calls are everywhere now—up from 44% of dropbacks in 2019 to 63% in 2024—forcing QBs to take shorter throws instead of risking picks on bombs. Add in more presnap disguises, faster pass rushes (QB pressure up to 30.1% of dropbacks), and lighter, quicker D-linemen, and it’s a nightmare for deep shots.    Offenses have adapted with emphasizing power run games to counter deep coverage and fast but leaner pass rushers.  Rushing attempts per game are up to 27.9 per game average with top teams significantly in the 30+ attempts.  QBs are emphasizing more short and intermediate throws so that the few deep passes they attempt have a higher completion percentage overall than in years past.    So to everyone who is frustrated with lack of deep passing, it’s all cyclical and right now emphasis on the run and taking more calculated shots is the way to go.
