None of the current FBs good enough? (Felton pick up)

Per Bill Voth's twitter account:

Wow, um...ok. RT @RavensInsider #Panthers awarded RB Jerome Felton off waivers from Lions, beat out claims from Minnesota and Philadelphia.

We need another RB like we need a hole in the head unless we're planning to trade someone, or someone is hurt that we don't know about yet...

With Schwartz done for the year we need to do everything we can to make sure we can still be productive rushing the football, and most importantly, protect Cam. We may not be able fill the guard position with someone the caliber of Schwartz and Felton is a solid veteran and I would bet he has played in this system before if not something similar. Not a big splash flashy move at all but one that makes a lot of sense.

Sutton has made a few remarks on twitter recently against ppl referring to him as a fb.

(In reference to Hartsock being used as a fb) Richie Brockel (listed as te) has been playing fb while Fiammetta has been injured. Hartsock seems to have been brought in to be the blocking te yang to shockey/olsen yin.

Former Pro Bowl you say? Not exactly the DT or CB we were all hoping for, but any time we sign a player who is/was once near the top of his position, then I can't say I object..

What does this mean for Fiametta though? He was a running/pass catching FB coming out of Syracuse, I really thought the new offense would benefit him. Perhaps we don't want a 'skill-player' FB and are looking for one that more of a blocker? Does this new FB fit that bill?

    • How am I all over the place?  I'm still saying that. I'm saying that Chark at his best and T-Mac right now, on the same team right now for the 2025 season, T-Mac would be ahead of him on the depth chart Week 1. Because in the same way everyone is saying, "T-Mac hasn't played a snap in the NFL yet", the very same is true to say, "nothing Chark did in his past matters moving forward" His peak was a 1,008 yard season where he was the only decent WR on a terrible team.  He didn't put up the 1k yard season because he was a great WR, it was because of how bad the rest of them on the team were. His stats aren't the same as his ability, and his ability was never all that good to begin with. Hell, most of this board agrees that T-Mac is our #1 right now, even if Thielen is Bryce's #1 option early in the saeson just because of the comfort level there, he's still just a slot safety valve and T-Mac is our #1. If you put peak Chark on the roster RIGHT NOW (even without T-Mac)... is anyone even putting him over Thielen, XL, or Coker going into this season? I'm honestly not sure many of us would consider him as such, because even at his best, he was just a JAG.  So if the same people who are okay with T-Mac being ahead of those guys right now, wouldn't put Chark above them, how can you in the same breath say Chark was better than T-Mac already is now?
    • Dude... you're just all over the place. You're the one who said T-Mac is better right now than Chark was at his best.
