For all the bad things that have happened

Do we forget so easily?

1.) We were 12-4 last season

2.) We have a franchise Left Tackle

3.) We have arguably the best Running Back and Wide Receiver in the league

4.) We have Jon Beason

5.) All of our awesome Rookies are a year more experienced (Otah, Stewart)

6.) Trgovac is gone!

7.) Hurney and Fox are some of the best drafters in the league

We have so many things to be happy about. :)

Don't forget Jerry's new heart. In all seriousness, I was worried about what could have happened if JR was to have not survived his recent medical scare.

I love where we are as a franchise and see a solid foundation that will lead to long term, sustainable success. Is everything perfect? Of course not, but we'll contend again in '09.

Don't let Sam Mills Fan in here then...

This whole thread is cracking me up. Sure, let's all just forget who our quarterback is and that we only have one great player on defense lol. If you do that and ignore our schedule for next season, then you *should* be really excited for next year!

I can counter everything negative you say with a positive.

Feel free to wallow in your negative filth tho.

I will stick to reality.

The "whoamg schedule is so hard wut r we goig 2 do" rhetoric is a joke. Didn't most everybody have San Diego and Green Bay penciled in as our toughest games last offseason? The NFL doesn't work that way. If it did, we've have two or three Lombardi trophies by now.

Actually, we have two elite caliber players on defense: Peppers and Beason. Everyone else is either average/above average (Lucas, Brayton, Lewis, Kemoeatu, Godfrey, Diggs) or very good (Davis, Gamble, Harris). You don't need Pro Bowlers at every position to field a good or even great defense.

1.) We were 12-4 last season Right on. It was a fun season up til that final game.

2.) We have a franchise Left Tackle Overpaid, but I'm glad he wants to be here. Unlike someone else.

3.) We have arguably the best Running Back and Wide Receiver in the league Got to love that.

4.) We have Jon Beason One of the best in the biz. Not looking forward to the day when he "talks contract".

5.) All of our awesome Rookies are a year more experienced (Otah, Stewart) Otah will hopefully play all 16 games, or that could be a sign of things to come. But he will be a beast. J-Stew goes over 1000.

6.) Trgovac is gone! So? Nobody knows the real reason our D sucked. Let's just hope Meeks will change the scheme up and Fox won't step in his way. At all.

7.) Hurney and Fox are some of the best drafters in the league. Every team can claim good draft picks I'm sure, but I can definitely thank them for eight without even thinking.

We have so many things to be happy about. :)True, but the past is the past. It will not make up for a crap year, if we have one.

And also, here's to another 8-0 home stand!

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
