It's public knowledge for most by now but just to be clear vets with 4 or more years of service that got "cut" are who can sign anywhere as of 10 p.m today. Those with less are subject to the waiver wire and the teams who they are awarded to will be announced at 4 tomorrow. of course automatically get whoever we want due to our record last year.

I've got a feeling that we won't be seeing much action tonight...

I think Marty will prefer to go after young guys on waivers first (with hopes of filling in spots, expecting they have potential, and we'll develop them like draftees), it kind of falls into line with our personnel philosophy.

Then he may go after the vets later if he's not happy with what we have. I can see Tommie Harris being an immediate option though because he's been released twice in one year, price is probably pretty low.

Good news is he knows exactly who he will be awarded via waivers already, unlike other GMs, so he can offer contracts to vets tonight to fill any other holes he wants.

I still don't think we will hear anything tonight, but this is an advantage.

We might not see much action tonight but I do think we will go after some of the guys that can be signed tonight. I think that Hurney will had some older guys, help get some experience on this team.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
