Greatest debuts in history?

Beating the Cardinals?

So if he plays bad, it's still a success because he doesn't look totally retarded and if we beat a team that is a notch above us but still pretty terrible, it's the greatest rookie #1 pick debut ever?

I guess Cam can really do no wrong.

Do you know how many #1 overall QBs have won week 1 of there rookie seasons?

Do you know how many #1 overall QBs who started went onto teams who were installing new schemes and didn't have OTA's? No other QB drafted #1 overall has been working out of a hole that unique.

So yes, like I said...given Cam's circumstances....which debuts would have been more impressive in the history of #1 overall QBs?

clearly an overstatement. he'd have to throw multiple touchdowns to do qualify for that.

but if he completes half his passes and throws a touchdown and leads the team to a win i'll be pretty damn happy with it.

So no matter what he does it's the greatest because he's in a unique circumstance.

Great logic.

Pretty are setting the bar at "anything better than absolutely terrible" and calling it a success.

lol. Why don't you go start an I hate Cam thread and this why he sucks...those interested in that can join your thread.

I clearly expressed I think Cam will not be good Sunday. The history of the NFL shows #1 overall QBs week 1 do not perform well......and Cam clearly is in a bigger hole b/c of the circumstances of the lockout and new scheme.

#1 overall QBs have done so poorly in their week 1 debut that claiming Cam can go into AZ and be decent and win WOULD actually be claiming a lot as it would be one of the better performances by #1 overall picks......

You don't like the "logic" b/c you plan to be here Monday claiming he sucked on Sunday.....ignoring his circumstances and the natural progression of where #1 overall QBs have begun in their debuts.

No you're right, he hasn't set the league on it's ear and played like a 10 vet in the preseason so he's a bust and we should trade for Matt Moore.

There is a very limited sample size of #1 QBs who start week 1 so yeah it could be one of the greatest 5 in the last decade or two.

I just think it's time people stop shielding Cam and analyze him on what he shows, not what circumstances surround him and whatever intangible, unprovable description people want to give him.

I don't expect many, if any, wins this year. I want to see Cam progress. I no longer care where he started, how many reps he's had, etc. He's where he's at. From this point on, I want to see improvement.

If we go 0-16 and he improves then great.

If we go 8-8 and he doesn't improve, shitty.

He's a big boy, he can take some criticism. You shielding him on the internet doesn't make him a better player.
