Panthers - 1st team in the waiver claim order...

Their secondary sucks. Not sure how this will help.

Well, Carolina got a starting corner. Not saying much. Glue together a couple of old broomsticks and dirty mop, and it would make the secondary roster on the Panthers. They don't even have backups listed at CB on their NFL.com depth chart. I wonder if they'll draft Luck?

Best of luck, Darius.

I love how much credit the Pats get. Tom Brady fell into Bellicheats lap, they cheated to at least one Superbowl, and they haven't won a SB in how long?? And yet, people continue to slurp the collective knob of the Foxboro folks. Darius didn't fit in well there for whatever reason, and hopefully he pans out here.

I hate the Pats - is the one you refer to the one where we found out later we had at least 4 guys roiding it up?

Everybody juices in the NFL. Our guys just got caught. Not everybody records

practices to where they know what you are doing before you do it.

Or the one where John Fox went for two 2-point conversions, getting neither, and changing the complexion of the game which led to a scenario where the Patriots could have won by a field goal after going for a two point conversion late in the game that they never would have gone for if we had those two points on the scoreboard because they would have needed a TD in the end regardless, instead of a field goal to win? [in other words, even though we're talking about two points, the way the game played out, the Panthers would have actually been ahead by more than 2 in the end had Fox not gone for those 2-point conversions and failed because everything that led to 29-29 would have been different. Go back and look at the game]

Or the one where Kasay kicked the ball out of bounds giving the Patriots a short field?

Panthers beat themselves in that Super Bowl.

Felton is a castoff from one of the worst teams in the league. He sure looked good running the ball for us in preseason four though.

Seems like anytime we pick up a "castoff", lots of folks immediately gravitate to one extreme or the other. Either he's "the missing piece" or "he sucks".

Hurney made a point yesterday by citing Tyrell Sutton. No, he's likely not the final piece of the puzzle for anyone, but if he's picked up, there are probably going to be fans who say "why would we want a guy that couldn't even make the Panthers?". We've all watched Sutton over the past few years. Knowing what we know, would you consider that a fair way to judge his worth? I know I wouldn't.

Reality. Yes, there are reasons why players get cut. There are also reasons why other teams (including us) pick them up. It all comes down to seeing how they fit with us, and for every Kentwan Balmer, there's a Tyler Brayton.

I like the pick-up with Butler, still waiting on the DT though.

I have faith, though, in Rivera's ability to coach. He made SD's defense work, with relatively unknown players. He can do the same thing here.

Our defense has talent, but missing pieces. If Rivera can secure the holes at CB and DT, he stands a much better chance at reviving this defense.

Butler was a good start, definitely
