Making People Eat Crow

It IS the beginning of something great. And I typically don't like to play the "disrespect" or "under the radar" card...

But, to have these many people getting paid to analyze football and declare OUR QB to be a project, yet, he comes out and performs the way he did. Yet, these same guys continue to troll on national media outlets... That's just too much disrespect for me.

But, ultimately, it doesn't matter what they say. We know what we have, and we're gonna surprise some people this year... Just would appreciate it if people would man up nowadays.

Thank you! People act as if someone talked poo about their own family or something. And I will remind folks Cam IS going to have some really shitty outings that is how it goes.

And although I am really happy with what I saw yesterday, it was ONE game, his first game. Lets see how he looks in 10 years before anointing the kid :-)

Respect isn't given I.e to a kid that has tons of ? around him coming out of college, from a crappy college system and with a history of dual threat QB's failing in the NFL.

Respect is earned...OVER TIME. Not after one game. Now I have seen many media give him props so they gave him what he EARNED....yesterday.

And I gotta ask, why do you folks still give a poo what anyone in any media say?

Personally I would rather just kick ass, take names, win superbowls and not give a poo what anyone else outside of the Panther nation has to say.

I usually feel the same way, but I have to disagree with the analysis of him coming out of college.

How many times have you seen a player come out of college with national writers tweeting just a portion of what they said from a much larger interview in order to completely trash his character? Or have national writers putting stuff out there like "he's fake, his smile is fake."

You have guys like Hoge talking out of their ass and still refusing to give Cam credit for what he's doing.

What this means to me? It's not business, it's personal. These members of the media have made it a personal matter. Many of them have insulted him as a person, and therefore, have insulted me, as this is MY team and that's MY QB (*T.O. crying face*). But seriously, I take these as personal attacks, because they've attacked a player on my team, unprovoked.

For whatever reason, Cam is a guy that polarizes people. Add to the media stuff that half of this community went retard when drafting him became a possibility... I've never seen so much unwarranted "hate" on a guy that has done nothing but shown a commitment to be great and make amends for past mistakes.

It pisses me off and people should have to answer for talking reckless.

    • I think the book has been fairly written on Darnold, and by and large stays true. He can be rattled by pressure, and will lose his composure. If a team can get to him and have something go wrong in the plan, the mistakes and errors will pile up. Rams have a better offense, Seahawks sport a better defense. Should be a good 1.
    • Not a defense of him...an understanding of the problem. (something you seem to be lacking right now) 🙄 Bryce in a Canales offense is not an example of a stylistic mismatch, but I can give you one if that helps. When he was playing for the Panthers, Cam Newton sat under OC's running Coryell type offenses. Newton had a big arm and was a strong runner. He fit into that sort of attack very well. Then he goes to New England, where at the time they were running an Earhardt-Perkins system (similar to WCO In a lot of what they do but very different terminology). The Patriot offenses back then were heavily based on timing and rhythm style passing, not something that Newton was especially well suited for. So he washed out at New England, not because he had poor ability (his abilities had been on display here on a regular basis) but because he didn't fit what they wanted to do with their offense. I always go back to Jeff Garcia as one of the prime examples of this issue. Garcia in a WCO looked like a world beater. Put him in any other scheme though...yikes!  So again, Young's issues here have nothing to do with any failure to mesh with Canales. Hell, is say Canales has actually done pretty well at adapting his system to who he has rather than trying to jam square pegs into round holes. Again, it doesn't take an elite level of football knowledge to get this. It's pretty basic. But if you're not even capable of understanding what the real problem is, how are you going to know you to find the right solution? 🤔
