Chris Weinke talking Cam on ESPN2 (ESPN 32)

Ok I'm sure I missed a lot. I stopped typing this paper I'm working on to give a brief summary for those that couldn't watch:

* Cam's mental capacity is bigger than what people give him credit for.

*He met Cam right before he won the Heisman and his dedication and desire was evident then. He is even keel.

*Watching him play he was most impressed with his footwork and him throwing from the pocket.

*Level of intensity was different in the preseason and regular season. He performs well when the bright lights come on.

*Praised the coaching staff on how well they worked with Cam

*It doesn't take long to see he has a certain presence when he walks in. He has an outstanding work ethic, and he gained respect from his teammates because of it as soon as he came in, which gave him a lot of confidence.

*He wants to win and is willing to do anything to get it done.

Chris Weinke - the savior of the Panthers.

Irony at it's finest.

No joke...I'm also still in a little bit of shock that Cam was one yard away from the Panthers all-time passing yards in a game mark of 423 yards held by Weinke.

I guess his failure as a QB blocked my memory of that game....

Isn't it funny how those around Cam has to keep speaking of his intelligence and work ethics simply because the media acting as if it's hard to believe that he actually can be....Hmmmm, I wonder why?:leaving:

Unfortunately, this tendency isn't going to stop with Cam Newton. gonna take time for this to change, if it even does in our lifetimes.

    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
    • Dude he didnt play in pre season.....  he didnt practice at all with the team until the end of October.    I do agree though.
    • Bryce had a hand in the Miami win but not nearly as large of one as Rico and he also had the extra burden of being a big reason we were in the hole in the first place. If we get a winning season he is definitely back for next year though.
