CBS video preview: Panthers vs GB. No chance to keep it close. (video)

GB will have the same problem AZ and all other NFL teams will have with Cam, they can't sit back in coverage. Cam's ability to scramble for 1st downs and a lot more will force every team we play to try and contain Cam in the pocket. Either GB sends the blitz early and often, or Cam will hurt them by rushing for a lot of yardage, and also extenting plays and forcing defenders to either come off coverage to get him, or stay in coverage. This is a weapon we had week 1, and we'll have it again week 2, and for the rest of the season.

The problem is that GB can score quickly, and put us into a postion where we're playing catch up. We're not at the point where our defense is fooling the opposition, or even executing the plays properly. I would assume GB scores in the 30's, and I don't think our offense can keep up with that.

If the name Pat Kirwan had been in the title I wouldn't have watched it.

However, he's right in most of what he says with the exception of two rookie DT's, I think the new dude sees a lot of reps this week and I think we do make a competitive game out of it...for most of the game. I think the difference will be the 4th quarter.

I said this in another thread and it was probably best said in this one.

I'm sick of hearing what a 'genius' Dom Capers is. He used to coach here, he's no 'genius'. His defense has been porous more times than not and the yardage that defense allows is not that impressive.

Injuries or not, the Packers were 10-6 and limped into the playoffs and got hot.

The genius in GB is Mccarthy with is O game plans and play calls. Stop Rogers, you stop the Packers.

Now, the Panthers have holes and they have young players and there is no denying that the Packers have better and more experienced personnel; but, the Panthers have young players who are learning to be better and I believe a smart coaching staff.

Panthers will also, for first time since 2003, have someone on offense to really get excited about, a playmaker.

The Panthers will be in this game. If the breaks go the Panthers way and they are able to run the ball, they have a chance.

The Packers are very much beatable. Great defenses don't allow 300+ yards passing and/or allow someone like Sproles to run wild.

I'm a firm believer in 10 percent plan and 90 percent execution. No matter the plan if you execute it flawlessly you're going to make the plan appear flawless.

I'm more worried about the Panthers defense than I am about Cam at QB. Cam is going make stuff happen and help rack up some touchdowns. If the defense lets Aaron Rodgers stand in the pocket all day with a clean jersey they're going to put up a LOT of points. More points than the Panthers offense can put up in a game right now.

He says they will confuse Cam by only rushing two players??? I say fine with that!!! Greenbay meet Mister Williams and Mister Stewart!!

What he is talking about is the polar opposite of what Arizona did to us with the blitz every down. Instead of the typical 3-4 linemen on the line of scrimmage, you only put 2 on the line and drop 9 into pass coverage. This makes the reads tougher on your 4-5 WR's & TE's. You can afford to spy Cam with an LB to hold any run he makes when you outnumber the receivers 2 to one.

As for the run, they won't go dime in known rushing downs. Could we burn them with the option? Maybe, but we won't be able to live on it.

And no, I don't think our line could stop even 2 of GB's DT's.

So.. 2 people 1 spy with at least 5 people blocking are going to sack Cam Newton, or force him to throw? Fine that hard to believe but oh well.

Yep. Arizona tried blitzing and got burned. Green Bay has a couple of studs in the middle. If we don't get the run game going this could be a 3 interception day for Green Bay. Arizona has probably the worse secondary in the league. Smith was beating Richard Marshal for Christs sake.
