Vincent Jackson next year?

With Rivera, Chud, and other former San Diego players now in Carolina...what if Vincent Jackson decides to test free-agency after his franchise tag is up...and...he decides to come team up w/ 89 and Cam???

Just an idea after reading an article on NFL.com mentioning San Diego seems hesitant to sign Jackson to long term deal...

Thoughts?

I know he is one screw up away from a year long suspension. Anyone know if that somehow lessens if he makes it through the whole season? Like if it happens after a year its only 4 games?

I'd love to have him Smitty and then a healthy Gettis... Just dont know that I'd be willing to invest so much in a player who could drink himself out of the league (Insert Dwayne Jarrett jokes here)

i'm more concerned about LBs, DTs and CBs to tell you the truth. get those positions secured then go after a WR.

Idk about DT, CB anymore as before. We'll see as the team goes along

LB yes. Just after game 1 I want to see more Byron... and who knows about Gettis. I wish we could use his speed on offense though

Dwayne Bowe is also a free agent next year, maybe he'll want to ditch that KC anchor.

No Thanks rather have VJ. There will be plenty of good WR's in FA next year, but i don't even think we are going to need them (Shout out to LaFell & Gettis!) If anybody i would like to get Braylon, Garcon, or VJ at WR tho.

All depends on how we do in the draft. WR isn't very high on the list right now.

To be honest, I think that we need to find our next WR1 in the draft rather than free agency, because smith is getting a little older now. When the time comes that we need someone to take on that Smith handles now, he needs to be young, so he can grow with his young team.

Agreed. I honestly like our WR core that we have now + Gettis.....

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
