Summing up the Huddle's attitude towards this team.....

"Look at all the reasons we can't win!"

Wankers!

Now we're going to lose to the Jags because we lost Thomas Davis and because Godfrey might be out?

....and next week we're going to lose because we're playing the Bears on the road and some other injury.

....and then we're going to lose because we can't stop the Saint's O without Beason and Thomas Davis even if we get Godfrey back

....and next year year we're going to lose because it's only our 2nd full year of "rebuilding" with Cam....and more injuries.

Seriously, ya'll bring me down.

You've been here since 2009, you should be used to it by now.

We are a developing team with a bright future.....think about where we were last year and how we were feeling about the future.

There will be negative threads always, just gotta block it out or if there is no legit discussion, hope the mods merge into one giant mega-pessimism thread.

Until then, enjoy the huddle for what it has!

More fun thoughts:

-In the 2003 playoff game against the Rams, we lost our star running back in the first quarter. Foster stepped in for him. We STILL won the game in double OT, one of the best games in the history of the franchise.

-In the 2008 season opener we played with a suspended Steve Smith on the road against the Chargers....Delhomme lit it up throwing to ....Dante Rosario...who outplayed Muhammad and was our best receiver that game.

-Last week, we lost our star O-man, and our star D-man and had an undrafted rookie take his place, Byron Bell. Guess what? We didn't get murdered like everyone thought we would! He stepped up. Conner stepped up.

Do some of you guys only believe we can win if we had the perfect team, with no injuries, when we only match up favorably man for man with other teams? If that's the only time you would believe in this team, that tells me you never have. We have NEVER had this. We will NEVER have this. Teams rarely, if ever, have this. And it doesn't matter even when we do, because last week for example, one of the biggest mistakes of the game came from our star receiver, Steve Smith. The other 3 came form our star QB.

Crap happens. People get hurt. Stars blow it. Others step up. We get over our losses, over come them, and move on anyway! Sometimes, teams win despite their shortcomings. And losers sometimes lose despite having all the advantages. Maybe it's just me, but I always find the wins we're not supposed to get, sweeter than the ones we are expected to.

And having said that, I still expect to beat the Jaguars!

Everyone is down because 2 weeks ago we had the best LB core in the NFL (arguably) and now two of them are lost for the season, and TD maybe for his career. It also doesn't help that they are two of the best Panthers to play for us

Yeah and it's a perfectly reasonable explanation. Two weeks ago we also had a rookie QB that couldn't throw accurately, wasn't really ready for the NFL and would get blown out by Green Bay.

Now, we know better, and he's still here for Sunday. You guys wanted us to have a high powered, passing offense, right? Well...we have that. Offenses that can put up 500 yards a game, do frequently win games without a defense, even if they don't win championships.

They also frequently do this on running teams. It's what others were doing to us. Why can't we do it to the Jags with Cam, Steve, Olson, Shockey, and Lafell? Ok so we can't stop them(they'll be able to put up their deadly 3 points on the board against us too). But we can sure as hell outscore them though, can't we? Isn't that what counts at the end of the game? Because after the first two games, no way we're the underdogs in the passing game.

The Jags have put up a whopping combined 19 points of offense in two games this year. We've outscored their total in each of their games. And before some say they have a better D than what we faced.....I will remind you, those same people were saying the same thing about GB and the fearsome Dom Capers! *shivers* Yeah...ok.

The Jags will have the same problem: trying to figure out how to stop Cam Newton, something so far, no one's been able to do, and the one advantage a rookie does have compared to a vet, is that he still hasn't played long enough for any defense to really prepare for him accurately at this point because apparently he showed us some new tricks this Sunday that we didn't know he had.

So far what we do know is:

-you can't Stop Cam with Blitzing non-stop.

-you can't stop him with zone coverage either, but you can get some pics out of him but....you still have to put up 30 points to win. And that's with us leaving points on the field.

Maybe the Jags will find the answer, but my optimism remains high on this one. That's a reasonable explanation too, don't you agree?

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
