what's the deal with your running game

part defense scheming against it shuts it down.

part oline still gelling. right side of the line has had issues. RG just (re)joined the team prior to week 1 game. otah didn't practice until right before season started and missed last week with concussion when we started a udfa rookie there (who did pretty good considering the situation he was thrown into).

chud hasn't trusted it so they haven't used it.

next couple weeks it should be better.

Were moving the ball down the field it doesn't matter if its only by air. When teams prove they can stop cam newton we will continue to torch them by the pass. Same thing goes for running the ball if we were running the ball all over people we would continue to feed the backs the football. It doesn't matter how you get there by air or by land as long as you get in the endzone.

    • The guy was there last year as the OC, DC just insisted on calling the plays live. I dunno if it will look any different other than DC getting freed up to focus on clock and time out management. Best case scenario they force Bryce to throw downfield more to see if he's actually able to do it, I doubt they add QB sneaks or much more play action due to his size.
    • I thknk bringing in a new OC also had to do with Canales being extremely slow recognizing what was happening on the field. He couldn't be HC and OC effectively and it showed.
    • Aho I agree with. Freddie was meh - it would have been nice if he stopped one of the goals he allowed, but all of the goals are pretty much difficult saves that were the fault of our turnovers behind the net.  Ghost is what he is - a puck moving, capable scorer damn who is not very good defensively. He usually relies on Boom and our forward line to help him out. Aho and Jarvy (and to a lesser extent Walker and Miller) were the biggest no shows tonight. Staal line + chatty/Slavin were the only reason we didn't lose by 3+ goals
