He's 255. Of course a LB will lack in pass rushing at that weight.

Demarcus Ware(260), Clay Matthews(255) and James Harrison(242) say hello.

As for Curry, Seattle sounds unhappy with his performance bc they want him to get sacks. 75 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year isnt exactly bad. Not great but not bad, I think with the right coaching and the athleticism that he has, he could be a stud. HOWEVER, Pete Carroll knows how to coach LB's, and if he couldn't turn him into a performer, who knows how much better our coaching staff would fare.

Carroll did not draft Curry and has only had him for one year.

Yeah, we never thought it would happen. That's the kind of move Hurney makes. Not a move that the fans are whining for. If we sign or trade for someone it's going to come out of the blue.

I wasn't expecting Hurney to trade for Olsen because we had never really valued the tight end position since Walls, and we passed on him when he came out.

Olsen was the player I wanted us to draft all along., but couldn't really question dropping down and still getting Jon Beason. You can imagine my surprise when he became available. And my jubilation when we traded for him. I knew he was a game changer who never was featured in Chicago. Martz may know offense but by underutilizing the tight end position he limits his offense's ability to run the ball and pass protect. A tight end would make Forte more effective on the edge and help protect Cutler on the blitz. Or when the blitz isn't coming can serve as the platform for the seam route down the field for a big gain.

I hope that with Olsen and Shockey here, we can translate that into blocking for our backs on the edge and great pass protection for Newton on the deep ball to Smitty. Obviously the ability to catch the ball and run afterwards is a huge reason to utilize them to their full potential. We all know that a tight end is a quarterback's best friend.

Another one of those work out warriors who have great combine numbers, but when the real bullets start flying he is clueless.

Man whatever happened to the LB corp? Leroy Hill and Lofa? are those guys even in the league anymore???

To be clear, however, I would be totally willing to give him another chance. He might just need a change of scenery.

I take it you have never seen Curry play. If Curry had went to UNC, then the hole fans would be clamoring for Curry to come back home.

Curry is a baller. But he isn't very versatile and needs to be in the right lineup to succeed---- kindof like Dan Conner.

I suspect that what is really going on here is that Curry is the previous coaches' draft pick and just doesn't fit what the new coach wants to do.
