Numbers You'd Like to See Retired?

NONE, I don't like retiring numbers, but I do like acknowledgement of great players and what numbers they wore. I say have some sort of ring of honor but don't retire numbers. a player might get inspiration by wearing let say #89. That would be the sh*t to have two #89's from the Carolina Panthers in the HOF.

Retire a rookie lol

No I just listed the guys I'd like to see be successful enough for us to retire their number. Doesn't mean they have to be realistic.;)

Williams just seems like a perfect panther I could see his number retired if he stays with us for his career, which is pretty uncertain.

The only panther i could see rught now would be John Kasay....he is in the top 10 in points scored in the nfl( i think or will be soon) And he is the longest surviving panther since day 1 of our franchise 1st training camp.

I could see Steve Smith if his production stays up and he doesnt punch anybody else in the face...Players just do not stay with teams like they used to....Free Agency has pretty much killed that... I read somewhere that less than 15 percent of nfl players that play more than 7 yrs do it with one team. U need that much time plus more to validate number retiring.

    • The game thread is stream of consciousness. I may or may not have made a tasteless remark I don’t recall.    I know that my reaction was mixed, , not sure if I thought it was a positive or a negative in terms of.the game.    What I do know is we don’t need him hurt in the middle of a year where the jury is looking to come in on his future. fug that we need him playing and healthy so it is a fair game evaluation wise.    That is absolutely the most important thing in my mind by a large margin. I am not happy he is hurt, at all.
    • It's Wednesday, we're bored, and suffering theough another Halloween cooking show pretendingto be interested. What'd you expect.
    • I wasn't saying that's the only way to get one. My post was in direct response to the "if you have the opportunity to get a game breaking TE, you take them" I was just saying that if you're taking a TE in the 2nd or 3rd round, you're just hoping they can become that game breaking TE.  The ones that you KNOW will become that, are the guys like Bowers or Warren who go in the early 1st round. We just took mid round TEs that both show solid potential, I don't see how taking a TE in the 1st would make sense over the other available players.  And taking one in even the 2nd or 3rd just seems like to big of a risk at that position when we have so many other needs.
