Newton Can't Hand Off

That is what screwed up the run game. I noticed yesterday. The opposition D knows it's a run about 2 seconds before the ball is exchanged. Somebody tell Revera.

Wow, you are some detective. You found the thing that nobody else has noticed. I am not sure who Revera is but, I am sure many people have read this and have informed this Revera guy. Hopefully somehow the message gets passed to Rivera, Chud and Shula so he can work on it. If he can't get it fixed, then yeah, Armanti should probably start at QB against Chicago.

He does telegraph his hand offs. Seriously. And then He doesn't do that on play action, it's more subdued... It is something that they need to look at in all seriousness!

I'm not sure if the OP is serious but I think a legitmate hurdle to the running game is the lack of passing from under center.

Until we run more of the passing game from under the center or run more from shotgun the running game will continue to struggle because teams watch film and notice tendencies.

Thus far its a fairly safe bet for a defense to think run first when Cam in under center.

This is actually accurate. I emailed this to radio guys weeks ago during the preseason.

Newton often jams the ball into the backs. It's not always a smooth hand-off, and yes, that does disrupt a running game.

    • Steichen has the offense operating at a super high efficiency with JT/Pittman/Warren/Downs.  The OL is strong. The D - the front 7 has been sneaky good.  They don't instill much fear but do enough.  Buckner is stil playing at a high level.  It's a good system on both sides of the ball.  Blue chip players now at every position group.   Overall, the NFL is wide open right now. Seahawks, Colts, Patriots, Rams, & Bills are at the top of the mid-season hill - which is just wild Lions, Bucs, Broncos, Chargers* are in contention/okay spots (LAC is losing guys left and right though) Chiefs, Philly still linger, you can never discount. Steelers, 49ers are around as always.
    • Feel free to go down memory lane.  A lot of us questioned why the fug would we do this and per usual huddle we have many many posters praising this as a good move.   Oy vey
