Cam's Response to Olsen

Except that was under the assumption that what the Chicago guy said happened was true. We now know it wasn't so that throws that out of the window. Like I said if he made it up he should and will be buried...keep reaching though' date=' this is amusing....[/quote']

And my point all along is that journalists are WEASELS.

Thanks for helping me make my point. :D

One guy making up poo =/= every journalist in the media....nice try....

If you think its just "one guy" in the media, you ain't paying very close attention brother.

Check with Cam to see how accurately "the media" was reporting on him from last November to the present day and see what he says.

If you're talking about the pay for play stuff then nobody but Cam knows what happened, and it's fair for the media to question that he must have known with his dad setting the whole thing up. Not going to open up that can of worms though....

That I understand what sports journalism is about....I understand your frustration because it's your team but that's the nasty side of journalism. Person didn't say what was or wasn't said because he covers the Panthers. Any other beat writer from another city though....it's completely understandable for them to say something noteworthy that happened after the game to drum up excitement. That doesn't make them a bad person, it makes them a smart journalist....now if it comes out that he made the whole thing up, he will get buried but if it's remotely like he said it was then he's awesome in the Chicago media and he'll get his 15 mins of fame in the Natl media....you might not like it but that's the guys job, to promote his name and develop a brand and following...

Let me add, if I was Person in this situation I would have handled it the same way. However, if this happened to the Bears, I'm sure Person would have tweeted/reported it, he's just like any journalist. Hell, Darin Gantt chastises his twitter followers all the time, it's quite hilarious sometimes...

I must be real out school because it's hard for me to wrap my head around those who do anything to gain attention unto themselves then act like they're just doing their job.

One wonders why some reporters are banned from certain team locker room.

Like I said 5 times already...."if this isn't true, he should and will be buried for it". Keep trying to act like I'm supporting this guy fabricating news out of nothing though....

Questioning is one thing...Blantantly making ish up and repeating unchecked "unnamed sources" story then never correcting any of the stories speaks volumes of what our media have become. Even Jerry Springer would be ashame at the level our media would go to push a story. U know for a fact what his father did...Hmmmm...No wonder u don't have a problem with what the reporter did...Trashing someone's image to push a story seems quite normal and okay with u..

The more u post the more u're showing ur true dislike for Cam.

man what is with you, seriously

all you seem to do here is try to push other posters buttons and claim they don't like Cam if they don't love everything about him 100%. Well I'm sorry, some of us are capable of deeper thoughts than "me love cam newton" or "me hate cam newton."

You're a very closed-minded individual if you think that, and that's sad. Not all members of the media are good, nor are they all bad.

You can't be holier than thou when you're 48 and you're trying, literally trying, to come across as more of a curmudgeon with every post.

 like I said I'm not opening the pay for play scheme can of worms. All I will say is there is an investigation at Auburn currently and the truth may or may not come out whatever it is. As for me not having a problem with what the reporter did....I didn't, IF it was true, it wasn't so as far as I'm concerned he's a pos hack job. If you think I dislike Cam you really don't read enough of my posts....

"Tight end Greg Olsen walked by Cam Newton, who was sitting on a chair in front of his locker stewing after Sunday’s latest loss, and tried to offer some words of encouragement, telling the rookie he gave the team a chance to win.

But he nearly got his head bitten off.

Newton, who tends to take each loss to heart, quickly shrugged Olsen off with his arms in a perturbed manner, mumbling something about close not being good enough."

“You play the game to win it obviously,” Newton said. “We just have to find a way. We had plenty of opportunities to capitalize, but the good thing is we’re extremely close. We have some guys battling, but we just have to find a way.”

"After he had time to settle down, Newton would later apologize publicly for shrugging off Olsen, saying he respects his veteran teammates, especially a guy who has bailed him out more than once." http://www.shelbystar.com/sports/chicago-58919-won-column.html

Can the manginas stop bitching now? Bunch of....[smfh]

It's seriously cave man mentality. I'm going to bash you in the head until you submit and agree with me....

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
