Cam Newton vs Andrew Luck - Now who would you choose?

When most of you read this, I know the first think that will come to mind is :beatdeadhorse5: but with Cam playing lights out, it should be much safer to have a conversation about Luck around here.

QOTD: If you had to choose today would you take the sure thing in :cam: or would you go with the unknown in Andrew Luck? Man that felt good to say!

edit: It's crazy that they had the same topic today! PTI jock'n the Huddle!

Newton is on pace to shatter most NFL rookie records (with a stacked deck against him b/c of the lockout)

Basically, he is doing what some suggest Luck could do if everything went great for him.

Andrew Luck's name should never be spoken b/c he is now irrelevent.

After the Monday Night game last night, they talked about whether or not the Colts should draft Luck if they end up with the #1 overall pick. Well one of the guys said that Luck will be the best rookie QB since Peyton. And I yelled at the TV "Dude do you see what the fuq Cam is doing."

Aside from the fact that I would have voted Cam even with Luck in the draft, I kinda felt perturbed by the fact that Luck didn't seem to want to come to Carolina, knowing we had the #1 pick, so he stayed in school.

We tend to forget that Cam was a junior too, and could have looked at us with the #1 pick and decided he didn't want to be part of our team. So, fug Luck (and thanks for making it easy for us to choose!)

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
