We're one draft away...

From a top 10 NFL team 2 years removed from a 2-14 season. We all need to keep some perspective. We will be elite next year if we make the right draft moves. I'm still thinking we win 5 or 6 games. Either way, things are looking up! People need to lay off the coaching staff. Remember we are young from the top down. This is the year to make mistakes.

If we got a top 5 pick, you can bet it'll be a good pick

We are a lot more than one top 5 pick away from being "elite". We would have to basically strike gold with every pick of ours plus not lose even more players to injuries plus get a couple of steals in free agency plus have basically every one of our players have a best case scenario offseason development in order to become elite.

NFL doesn't work that way. Everyone gets new draft picks and gets more experience. You get wins now when you can or you lose.

Get a clue.

Detroit lions disagree. Having stafford, fairley, suh, and calvin j. on the same team is going to make them contenders for years to come. All we really need is a top 10 draft caliber WR or DE and we will be right there.

The Lions have not been to the playoffs since 1999 and their last winning season (9-7) was in 2000.

Would you care to try your argument again?

Well seeing as how those Detroit picks happened in a five year span, and we need a star WR, star DT, and future star OL... next year ain't the year, Nostradamus. But the FO has firmly said they build through the Draft and not FA, so 2014 is going to be da ish!

disagree on the DE, hello Johnson and Hardy, they are good to have at DE. we need another DT, another CB, but i would go with the WR, we are a 2nd WR from being great. we need to re-sign Steve Smith to a 5 year deal then draft a WR and pair him up with Smith, then we have weapons for Cam. on defense we need the DTs to either play better or get some and of course get a CB. this team can hang though. i could see them upset the Falcons or Buc this year.

    • It’s becoming absolutely ludicrous this year that the hurricanes are allowing the first shot to go in. However, might as well have fun with it. That was the sixth time this year the hurricanes have allowed the first shot to go in on goal.  2nd time in 3 games haha     6
    • I agree. Their schedule had two top teams and they lost both games. The crying about it has reached ridiculous levels. ND is just so use to getting their way and forcing inclusion based on ratings. They (fans) even had the gall to complain about Miami losing to SMU and Louisville even though both spent time in the top 25 (not just preseason) as if they were horrible teams yet ND made it last year losing to a legitimately bad team in Northern Illinois. I laugh at people like Vic Lombardi saying it’s wonderful that ND called a wambulance to announce they’d skip a bowl game as if that should earn them respect. They just did that to avoid a potential embarrassing loss after all the crying.
    • I don't think he'll every really contribute... That knee popping again will always be in the back of his mind and he may run tentatively because of it. Hes been out of football for 2 years. I'm all in favor of signing Rico...its the smart thing to do, so don't expect it.
