Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals are 3-2

After leading the Bengals to yet another win Andy Dalton is sky rocketing up the charts for rookie of the year honors. Many so called experts had Cincinnati in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes but the rookie quarterback has made the name "Palmer" disappear from the mouths of Bengal fans. If Dalton keeps up his winning ways he will without a doubt be the best quarterback from the 2011 draft. While other rookie QBs are tearing up the record books Dalton is tearing up the win column.

Man i wanted to draft Dalton so bad, this kid has it.

shut up dude

dalton is an okay QB, but Cincinnati has a really fuging good defense(something we DON'T have) and is winning because of it

also: Bengals schedule

Browns

Broncos

49ers

Bills

Jags

their only SOMEWHAT respectable win is the Bills.

teams Cam has faced:

Cardinals

Packers

Jags

Bears

Saints

so we've faced two teams that were in the NFC Championship game last year and a team with an elite QB(Brees). Dalton has faced 5 teams that haven't made the playoffs in years and the best QB is Ryan Fitzpatrick lol.

I would bet my entire salary for the this year and say that Dalton would not have beaten the Green Bay Packers or Saints if they were on his schedule. Love how everybody is saying Dalton is the best b/c he has more wins. Play the Panther Schedule and have a 3-2 record..then come back to me. Otherwise STFU.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
