yep, they are radioactive, but people do keep watch over them. guess they aren't abandoned after all.

the russian govt did find a nuclear weapon base that they didn't know was there a while back though, if that makes you feel better

Most interesting thing I've read about in a long time. I find Eastern Russia so fascinating for some reason. How people can live so isolated from society in such sh*tty conditions, yet continue to live in these places.
